Ok but on a serious note I played though all his routes (except chaos lineage) and I'm still confused about who Laito actually is as a person and how his mind works (my bad for having poor media literacy but this is what I've gathered). It's only natural to to fear that which you don't understand. He's not just physically threatening he's also very smart and good at reading people. He's a master manipulator who will crawl inside your brain and give you brain worms. He's the type of 'corrupt' person who wants to expose this 'corruption' in other people to prove to himself that his world-view is right. There's something about his hedonism born from his trauma that's so unsettling especially when you actually see how fast he switches to suicidal ideation and self destructive tendencies when this made up reality he's built for himself comes crashing down. All this becomes even more disturbing when you realize that Laito would never be this way if Cordelia didn't abuse him. It's only because he has this heart that is capable of love and that wants to be loved that Cordelia could take advantage of him. It's a reminder that we are all capable of doing horrible things and becoming horrible people no matter how 'good' we are right now or how 'good' we believe we are. "Am I truly a good person? What is a good person? Who would I be if I was born in a different situation? Am I me or am I just a result of my circumstances?" Those kinds of questions honestly just give me existential dread and I can't 😭. If he doesn't like you or he gets bored of you he'll kill you but on the other hand if he does start to like you a little too much he'll also want to kill you. You're never safe with this man. No matter what you do or say, no matter how you treat him or how hard you try for him, there's nothing you can do to guarantee your safety. You have no power over any part your life anymore. Also I'm kinda scared of perverts in general like omg leave me alone why??
