What's a relationship you've always wanted to see Clair have? Platonic, sibling, romantic, parental, etc.
This is a great question! I’ve always been most interested in developing Clair’s platonic relationships first and foremost (esp. with other Johto Gym Leaders and trainers in other regions!). I think most of the fanbase only knows Clair for her legendary sore loser tantrum in GSC, so my portrayal aims to give her a little more depth, and make her a little more human, if that makes sense. Sure, Clair is haughty, stiff and prideful, but I also want to show that she’s actually quite sheltered in her traditional ways, that she’s recently reinforced her dedication to Dragons, and that she still has struggles: talking to/being open with people and working with technology being some examples. Basically, she’s a person who is stuck in the past somewhat, but I have her at least trying to learn more about the world outside of Blackthorn and Johto (Fairy-types, new evolution tactics, new regions etc.).Â
So to answer your question, I’d love for Clair to interact more with her fellow Johto Gym Leaders (including Falkner of course!). I’d love for non-Johto muses to take this poor woman abroad to their respective home regions--I’m sure her mind would be blown many times over. I’d especially love interactions with more recent Dragon trainers and Fairy-type users, just to see how my Clair would fit in with “new” Pokemon characters, if that makes sense! And I’m always down to explore family dynamics, especially given my Clair’s family history and her relationship with Lance. I hope that answers your question-thanks for sending it!
