There is no bahamut cieth crystal really :o but there are the crystals that cover cieths. Yes, Caius was a L’cie at one point, tasked to protect Yeul.

Sorry fell asleep on you lol and yes just like vanille I think, he kept his crystal. Yep just like a normal crystal affected by the chaos, I would imagine so since his Bahamut is called “Chaos Bahamut” and not just Bahamut. Yes, I think the crystal was affected by the chaos under the premise that he was too, and thought that it would manifest as the medium for Bahamut's abilities you see in the game which Caius uses.

I think possibly Caius’s probably placed his Bahamut’s crystal in original blade I believe, and over time, after he obtained immortality, Bahamut's influence grew over the blade coupled with infinite powers of chaos. Capable of destroying the timeline and distort space. Forming the eye you see and gradually encasing the sword in a strange, twisted aberration of organic and inorganic material that you see now.  It did gradually add weight, however, the blade twisted and shaped itself, nigh-sentient, until shaped into its present form. It is either that or that Etro just let it happened. I do believe Chaos was a pivotal role in the shape of the sword.

I was thinking more Cieth than eidolon, like their cieth are covered in this strange organic crystal substance that seems pretty durable.
