No Time for a Vacation || Peter & Jean
Peter waited impatiently, bouncing on the balls of his feet. He had to time this just right if he was going to get away with it. He had the three notes ready. Now all he needed was to hear Scottâs energetic footsteps heading downstairs to make Jeanâs tea. Come oooooooooon, Scooter. He thought. The guy was normally so on top of things. Maybe he was tired, given this was the second time around and he had his hands full with Charlie.
Ah, there he was! Peter started counting, grinning widely. He waited exactly three minutes and then took off. He left one note on the board in Jeanâs classroom, one on the Professorâs desk, and the last one he left in Scottâs hand after stealing Jeanâs tea from him. The girl deserved a damn break but wouldnât take one. So Peter was helping her out. He put the tea in the car heâd left down the road a bit and then returned for his sister.
He grinned, stopping in front of her. âMorning, princess.â He smooched her cheek and then, without giving her time to protest, scooped her up and ran her out to the car as well. He set her in the passenger seat gently and buckled her in, very careful of his tiny niece or nephew she was carrying. He hopped in the driverâs seat, finally coming out of warp and driving them down the road. âYour teaâs in the cup holder.â He grinned. âIâm sure Scott made it just how you like it.â
