It takes a lot of courage to step out of your comfort zone and try something new. With that new hobby/activity (especially something physical) you want try out, more times than not, you're going to suck at it to begin with. That's ok. Embrace the suck, cherish the opportunity and get comfortable with that struggle. That's where you grow. That's where character is built. It's too easy to quit in life, challenge yourself to be committed to something and see it through. Maybe you want to learn fly fishing, you're definitely going to suck to begin with and are likely going to get skunked a few times. You're out of shape and want to get fit, well, that's going to be a bitch to begin with also. How about Jiu-Jitsu? You'll spend awhile getting your ass kicked, but if you're committed to the process and learn the fundamentals, you'll eventually get better. The important thing in all of this is having the mental fortitude to push through the adversity and you'll eventually get better and see measurable results.
