I know when NF released HOPE he got a lot of backlash from his "fans" because his music wasn't his typical "dark and depressing" style of music which is stupid in my opinion.
HOPE was about getting better. NF has been struggling with mental health for a long time, he deserves to be happy just like everyone else.
But now with FEAR, I'm scared those old "fans" are going to come back and praise him for returning to his "old music" which is so gosh darn depressing to me. Do you guys not know this is a human being? He's allowed to change, he should be allowed to have hope for a better future.
My heart aches for NF with this release of FEAR. Mental health is an extremely long journey, and it's never linear. Those ups and downs hit you every day, and it's a constant battle to just try to stay upright.
All my best wishes for him. I truly want him to be able to have that hope, but I know this path isn't easy. Trying to battle something you've known and had felt safe in, while also being trapped, is no easy or small feat.
There's a reason his journey speaks to so many people. He's a very good example of what it's like to struggle with mental health, but just because he's famous does not mean he is no longer a person.
His music is real because he's lived through it. If you're connecting to his music think about how the very same pain you're living, he's experienced. He's a person, and he should not be expected to live in constant fear just because that's what is expected of him.
May NF one day find his map to hope again
