Welcome to the Saints & Stones Archive!
This blog is essentially a library for all things related to the Fire Emblem franchise. As a lifelong fan of the series, I have played every FE game available outside of Japan, and frequently find myself yearning for more peers that enjoy the series as well. From Mystery of the Emblem to Engage and Heroes, I am amazed and enthralled by the depth of creation both from Nintendo and the fanbase alike.
However, with each year that passes, Fire Emblem approaches a reputation like that of the Fate anime saga... so many timelines, so many easter eggs, so many components, that it becomes difficult to keep track of. The last thing I want when encouraging someone to explore Fire Emblem is for them to be deterred by the breadth of the franchise itself; hence, the Saints & Stones Archive was born.
In this blog, I will discuss the plotlines of games, post character break-downs and bios, offer an index of continents and kingdoms, and share theories or strategies relevant to the games as a whole. This will provide not only an organized index of Fire Emblem lore, but also showcase as many unique or underrated elements of the franchise as I can. I will also share methods of accessing the older games, such as providing links and reviews to my favorite downloadable hacks, ROMs, and emulators for each game.

Wii U Sales For ‘Tokyo Mirage Sessions’ In Japan Suggests Boycott Against Switch Port
JAPAN— It has come to light in recent weeks that the Western edit of Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE, known for being heavily censored, will be ported to Nintendo Switch and released in all eligible territories, including Japan, under the name Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore. Apparently, Nintendo’s decision to do this might be the reason why sales for the critically acclaimed Wii U game have skyrocketed in Japan, bringing it up to the number one spot on Amazon Japan’s bestsellers list in the Wii U games category. While it may be unclear if this is actually a sign that an active silent boycott against #FE Encore is happening among Japanese gamers officially, the numbers have certainly sent a message to Nintendo and Atlus, the developers of the Fire Emblem x Shin Megami Tensei collaborative, stating that fans prefer the original version over the edited cut. The act of purchasing the uncensored version over pre-ordering the Switch port may sound counterproductive, but at least it’s proving a point. To Nintendo’s credit, though, the decision to censor Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE was necessary at the time of its initial release in 2015 to avoid controversy, but nowadays, some people may wish to play the game in its original form to experience something new or to relive fond memories. It seems a bit lazy on Nintendo’s part to only port the censored version and not both, in my opinion. But maybe their branches overseas don’t want to loose any sales revenue for #FE Encore to the Japanese market. Or perhaps they just want to save a few G’s in the end.
