Based off of this tweet I made bc I wanna hug my video game dad damn it!!!!

Drew some kind of reference sheets for Beres and young Jeralt (who will soon appear in a comic!)

I want Beres to be slightly different from how she looks in game since 1. She is younger, and 2. To differentiate between this au and canon more. Her uniform doesn't have the shoulder or skirt designs and her socks are a little higher, also gave her an alternate shirt that is a little easier to draw LOL. Her hair is short, going slightly above her shoulders and when she pushes it back it gets quite poofy (even more so when shes mad lol it ghibli poofs)

Jeralt was hard to decide on how he should look bc I want him to be younger but also still recognizable and it was a challenge aksjsj but I'm rather happy with this! :3c also him and Momleth who I'm still waiting to see if theres a name on that goshdang grave (no spoilers) before I give her a definite name, but I've lowkey been thinking of calling her Lilin which is a form of Lilith (since Fates took that name >:( )

Oh and would you look at that! A Warphase!Beres who can't time travel and has been living as a mercenary outside of Fodlan for the past five years! also technically she's older then her older brother now who is still only 21! Wonder how she’s doing ;)

Ok so it would depend on whether the letter is anonymous or not. If in person their reactions would be different depending on who it is, and I don't want this post to be super long so I won't go into detail about that lol, but overall Byleth would only consider it if it was a teacher (and maybe Hubert since he's literally only a year younger then him akss). Beres... idk what Beres would do like I said it'd depend on the person akshhs

BUT IF THE LETTERS ARE ANONYMOUS-

Byleth would be so embarrassed. Like he was not prepared for it at all and it totally throws him for a loop (which he hates lol). He'd try his best to ignore it, not feeling comfortable getting letters from his students professing love for him, but eventually he'd go to Jeralt like "wHAT DO I DO" after a couple awkward days. He could probably tell who wrote it from the writing, but he doesn't seek the person out or confront them. If they do go up to him he'd be nice but firm that he can't accept their feelings.

If its from a teacher tho catch Byleth not being able to make eye contact with any of them for the next WEEK. He's just a 21 year old trying his best to teach he is not equipped to being hit on by his peers. Manuela is his #1 suspect (tho lowkey when he lays awake at night he hopes its Jeritza. Sothis do you think it couldve been Jeritza?? He's mysterious, love letters are mysterious- maybe it is Jeritza.)

Beres would go full detective trying to figure out who sent it. She doesn't want to waste time feeling flattered if she doesn't like the person, so she'd hold off on feeling any emotions about it till she finds out. (Aka she really is just making sure it isnt Lorenz lmao) She'd pay more attention to handwriting, little conversation ticks that might have shown up, how they act around her, etc etc. Once she figures it out then she can start to work out how it makes her feel. (There's only a handful of people that could write one that would make her heart race, everyone else she'd just feel flattered but let them down easy)

Rhea: Byleth is cautiously trusting of her, having small memories of her from when he was a toddler, but he doesn’t let his guard down. Beres does not trust her at all, and dislikes how she attempts to be a mother figure to her.

Seteth: Beres and him are often at odds, he’s the one who made her have a special uniform because her normal clothes where to scandalous (“what if Flayn started wanting to wear such things?!”), but they do gain a respect for each other after awhile. Byleth thinks he’s incredibly smart and attractive.

Manuela: She hits on Byleth a LOT, and he’s incredibly flustered by her advances (on the inside, on the outside he’s as stone faced as ever). He does have a respect for her medicinal prowess and they are friends. In this AU Manuela is professor of the Golden Deer, and just like everyone else in her house she also likes having Beres around (though her reasons are more because she can make Beres clean and do the jobs she doesn’t want to do alsdjflsjf). Beres finds herself the one who Manuela mainly complains about failed romance to, usually while she cleans the infirmary and Manuela drinks askljf

Hanneman: They're both a little put off by his methods at researching their crest at times, but both like him and have a fairly positive opinion. (Beres also hangs out with his Blue Lions in the training arena a lot)

Jeritza: Beres finds him weird, and Byleth is a little bit attracted to him.

Shamir: Byleth and her get along quite well (as well as you can with her akshs), often just standing in silence near each other before nodding and walking off. Beres thinks well of her because she mentors Cyril, and both of them think shes really really hot.

Cathrine: Neither of them particularly like her, especially Byleth since she keeps trying to compete with him to earn Rhea's attention. Beres would gladly give all the attention Rhea gives her to her lmao

Alois: UNCLE ALOIS!!! He insists he's more of a big brother, but Byleth quite likes being the oldest sibling thank you very much and Beres doesn't want another brother, so both (in their minds) refer to him as uncle.

Gilbert: He and Byleth have nice converstations and respect each other. Gilbert asks Beres for advice on how to reconnect with his daughter since she's also the daughter of a knight, and even though Beres finds it a little weird she does help as best she can.

Flayn: Flayn has a crush on Byleth, and he views her as intelligent beyond her years and likes her (though he doesnt return her feelings and has them for her older brother instead aksh). Beres and Flayn get along really well, though Flayn is sometimes shocked by how uncaring Byleth is about what Beres does. (Flayn: Byleth, where can I find Beres?" Byleth: No idea. Flayn: ???? But you're her older brother??)
