ii. personality —

to put it simply, emma vanity is the perfect cliché of the rich kid starving for their parents’ attention, so they act out to get it. she’s been spoiled pretty much her whole life, but everything has been handed to her, so she gets bored quite easily. she’s incredibly social, enjoys a good party, and frequently gets fucked up during them. though she curses like a sailor, she can be quite charming at times.

getting into trouble is emma’s second favorite hobby. the first is quidditch, and she’s very intense about the sport, like beat your ass serious. very much wants to become a professional player. though she lives a life of hedonism, this is pretty much the only thing she’s ever been really serious about. being spoiled pretty much her entire life, it’s no surprise she can act like a brat when she doesn’t get what she wants.

iii. background —

born in a brazilian pureblood dynasty, the vanity’s only made their move to the united kingdom through emma’s father. he was interested in the promise the death eaters held, and decided to move his family to a new country in the hopes it would raise their family’s status to new heights. his wife, unbeknownst to anyone, really held the leash. a half-veela, she’d charmed & manipulated her husband into doing her bidding.

emma was, and would always be, an only child. her parents’ fertility issues making sure of that. this meant her family put all their focus on her, though — and for the first few years of her life, she was stuck in an endless loop of etiquette, tutors, and whatever event her parents deemed fit to attend.

the first time emma disobeyed her parents was coincidentally also what changed her life. she’d stolen a broom out of the staff closet and taken it for a ride on the grounds of their estate, fell on her ass a few times, but also fell in love with flying. her parents eventually caught her, and deemed it very unladylike for their little girl to be zooming through the air like that, and therefore forbade it. of course, this caused her to sneak around and keep flying, until they finally decided that they could stomach it for the time being, as long as it remained just a whim.

it was not, however, just a whim. first year at hogwarts, emma basically raced towards the slytherin quidditch tryouts, until they laughed her off the pitch without letting her try out. with no quidditch and having covered most of the classes in her tutoring, this was the first time emma got bored — and the school would learn to fear that mood soon enough.

emma vanity became the bane of her teacher’s existence, even in first year. she started fights, pulled pranks, and attended whatever party the older years were throwing ( as soon as they saw her antics, they decided to adopt her for entertainment ). she grew even worse, having her first drink half-way through the year, and her first kiss only a few hours after. when she returned for the second year, and they finally let her fly for the team, her popularity only skyrocketed. the second year chaser who broke someone’s nose on the pitch. the little slytherin girl who caused a fight between the puffs and the gryffindors. the twelve year old who could keep up drinking with much older.

PERSONALITY TRAITS

charming: Fake smiles and warm, genuine tones came to him easily. In another life, perhaps he would have gone into politics. He would have been good at it, the speeches, the handshakes, and the small talk. It’s the marker of his effort to be perfect; being liked, universally, or at least liked by those that mattered. 

reckless: Edgar’s always been filled with a fighting spirit and a desire to stand up for those who, for whatever reason, can’t stand up for themselves. Each decision he makes is carefully tended to, and so he’s known to be impulsive, so very sure that he will succeed. This has led him into more than one aggravated letter from his parents.

perfectionist: Every decision, every action, they’re all done with the utmost seriousness. All details should be taken into account and no task should be left unfinished, or so Edgar thought. His duties were completed with great care, as could easily be seen if they were to glance into his journals, or the bundles of carefully written to-do lists stowed into his book bag. he’s hard on himself, and so anxious to make sure that all is well, even that which is out of his control.

controlling: Edgar truly subscribed to the view that each person was in control of their own destinies. It was because of that opinion that he possessed such a stubborn, festering need to make everything go his way. He works hard to shape the future that he wants to see. It’s given him tunnel vision, and a rigidity that has brought tension into most, if not all, of his relationships.

BACKGROUND

activism: Justice was never freely given, it needed to be fought for. For as long as he remembered, perhaps since he first ever witnessed injustice, Edgar wanted to be an auror. It was a hard profession, which required only those of the most sound mind, magic, and body. There was a nobility in it that he’d always felt drawn to. So of course, after the turn of his seventh year, when the Headmaster approached him about joining the Order, he joined in a split instance. With every passing day, and every new death to add to the list, Edgar is realizing that there is always something more to be done. One day he will even die for this cause.

quidditch: Edgar joined the team at the start of his fourth year, and ever since then, he’d maintained a steady hold on the position of Keeper. It’s not something he’s going to spend the rest of his life doing, but it’s a fun, pleasant distraction that keeps his mind off of the war. It’s also a good way to let out some aggression, if he ever needs to, and with the current state of the world, he definitely needs to. 

family: Edgar loves his family. He strives to be like his father, strong and resolute, brave and gentle all at once. And his mother; sharp, warm, and observant, someone he always wants to impress. He’d always been a dutiful child, doing as he was told for the most part and only making waves when he was very passionate about something. That was starting to change. Tension was growing more and more between himself and his parents. They thought him too radical, too eager to jump to violence as a mean to stem the blood supremacists. But still, the love there remained. And there was Amelia too, his beloved twin sister. She was his first best-friend and his first rival and were all but two sides of the same coin. He was older than her by ten minutes, but that was about the only thing he was first in. They matched each other step-for-step, word-for-word, and spell-for-spell, but Edgar would not have it any other way.

Also she’s a Slytherin, tenth year, Chaser on the Quidditch time (Andie likes to go fast, please don’t give her a car), a prefect, and in Frog Choir and Slug Club

Around her eighth year, she came back to school different - she had never believed any of her family’s pureblood supremacy nonsense but now she was ready to be more vocal about that - it was a quiet rebellion because she’s not stupid but she followed her conscience in this case

Surprisingly, it hasn’t backfired on her the way it did for Sirius (maybe because she’s quieter? Maybe it’s just her parents); her sisters are still probably her best friends (even despite the crush on one Ted Tonks) and she’s stupidly hoping for the best

She’s going to be a Healer (there isn’t even the slightest bit of doubt in her mind) and she’s pretty serious about her studies but she makes time for fun still

She’s just really soft and nice and has such high hopes for the future and that’s gonna crash and burn in such an ugly way

- more recently, gabrielle has realized that she needs to be out in the world doing something about the war, not sitting in school pretending that her classes will matter if the world tears itself to shreds. she has made the decision that she will not be returning to hogwarts for an eleventh year. her parents do not know this yet.

- gabrielle started dating edgar bones in their seventh year, and they seemed a perfect couple - sharing ideals, goals, and general feelings about life. the relationship came crashing down though, at the end of their ninth year. gabrielle told edgar about her plans to leave school after tenth year, her thoughts of the world, and edgar disagreed. the argument was loud, and the break up hurt.

- gabrielle is back at school for her tenth, and final, year, and intends to just make it through. she’s not as interested in her classes as she once was, finding it a struggle to focus on anything with the war all but knocking on the door.

- gabrielle is extremely gifted in languages. she’s fluent in both french and english, and conversational in spanish, german, and dutch. her knack for languages has also made her quite good at non-verbal magic.

ABOUT

tilden had a pretty simple life growing up. his parents both had great high paying jobs and he was able to keep himself occupied hanging out with his baby sister. his father was a world-known herbologist and his mother was a potioneer for st. mungos. from a young age, he was introduced to both herbology and potions and fell in love.

tilden was able to go to work with his parents and learned a lot about both subjects. he started taking care of plants and attempting to brew potions before he started hogwarts. he collected books on the subject and when he started to hogwarts knew a lot more about the two subjects than most second years.

tilden was nervous to start hogwarts, not wanting his sister to get lonely at home all day but his parents told him he had to go so he reluctantly got on the hogwarts express, waving goodbye to his family.

he was sorted into hufflepuff. at first, he was disappointed because his parents had been in gryffindor and ravenclaw. but he quickly realized hufflepuff was the best place for him to be and he ended up loving it. hufflepuff was his home and he ended up making a lot of friends in his house and out of his house.

over the summer tilden’s mother died in a “work accident”. this is what his father told him and his sister, but she was actually killed by some death eaters. he hasn’t told any of his friends about it because he doesn’t want them to worry about him. he tends to just pretend it didn’t happen and everything is okay.

tilden has been dying his hair green for a long time now. it started off as a joke between him and a couple of friends but then he found out he liked it and stuck with it. plants are green. plants are his favorite thing. it made sense in his head.

HEADCANONS

one. quidditch

tilden has always wanted to play quidditch. he thinks flying up in the air on a broom looks incredibly cool, but tilden has a huge fear of heights and falling. he tried out for the team in his fifth year and didn’t make it but has since become their number one fan. if he can’t be in the air playing for his house, he’s always there to support them in the stands cheering as loudly as possible.

two. plants

plants are the love of tilden’s life. he is always talking about plants. he knows so much about them and his heart is so filled with joy when people listen to him talk about plants. if he’s not covered in dirt from being in the greenhouse then something is up. he normally always has a plant with him or a book about plants.

three. potions

potions are the second love of tilden’s life. he was born with a natural talent to brew potions and understands them so well. his goal in life is to create potions to help herbologists. like come on its 1980 why aren’t there more herbology related potions?

four. the order

tilden has always supported the people who want to take down the death eaters. he was terrified to join at first because he’s not the best with dueling but eventually, he was convinced. he’s been working extra hard to perfect the art of dueling because he doesn’t want to let the order down. he would do anything and everything to help them protect the people he loves, especially since his mother died.

five. style

tilden dresses like a middle-aged dad when he’s not in his school robes. ugly sweaters and cardigans are his style and he loves it. he just wants to feel warm and comfortable because he is always chilly. he also has messenger bags with plant pins on them. tilden is also supposed to wear glasses but he doesn’t wear them 90% of the time because he’s forgetful.

six. family

family is everything to tilden. without family he wouldn’t have anything. since the death of his mom things have gotten weird. his father is always working on something or away on a business trip which has put a rift in the family. this has lead to him being more overprotective of his sister though because he doesn’t want her to feel forgotten.

seven. bartimus toad

tilden has a natterjack toad that he got before he started hogwarts his first year. he named it bartimus mctoad because eleven year old him thought it was hilarious. he now calls the toad barty normally, despite knowing full well that there is a student at hogwarts who goes by barty. it amuses him greatly.

eight. muggle things

tilden’s mother was a muggleborn so he and his sister were introduced to muggle things from a young age. tilden is obsessed with comic books and star wars. his favorite characters are garfield logan aka beast boy and yoda. he could talk about them for hours... just like plants.

CONNECTIONS

crushes: tilden has had a lot of crushes in his life. he can’t help it. he crushes easily on anyone and everyone who is even slightly nice to him.

exes: he’s dated a few people, likely didn’t last long anytime because he’s awkward and doesn’t know how to pursue relationships.

best friend: tilden and them have been close forever now. he treats them like family and would do anything and everything for them.

PERSONALITY

fun-loving: Life’s a party, and Ludovic is the guest of honor. At least as far as he’s concerned. For better or for worse, he is always looking for a good time, something light-hearted and casual to take his mind off anything bad in his life. He’d always been a goofy kid, but after the death of his mother, it was like he was a man on a mission; the mission being to always have a smile on his face. It showed him that life was short and there was no point spending it sad, if it could end at a moment’s notice anyways. 

creative: When he wasn’t on the quidditch pitch, he could be found in the Ravenclaw Common Room with pencils and paint covering the table before him. He wasn’t a generally ambitious person when it came to school and extracurricular, but art club was always a good way to spend an afternoon. This ability to think and create led to sticky situations too. He thought outside of the box, and it showed in the various schemes he crafted to get whatever it was that he wanted. 

lazy: Ludo’s smart, but like many talented people, he never applied himself. However, he was never bothered by that. His path forward was to be found playing Quidditch, and if that failed, to find some way to work in the industry. He’d polish the player’s brooms if that’s what it took, but he knew that he didn’t need good grades to get there. He stayed in school because his parents would cut him off if he didn’t, but he treated the entire thing with a laissez-faire attitude and so far that was working out just fine.  

untrustworthy: it’s a dog-eat-dog world out there, or so the muggles said, and sometimes a wizard had to do what he needed to do. it’s different with his loved ones, the few people that he loves and values. his brother, his lovers (most of them, anyways), and a few close friends. he would never steal from them, and would never lie about anything bad or major. but everyone else? his teachers, his acquaintances, and especially those he disliked? well, they were fair game. it was standard knowledge that one did not leave their galleons out around ludovic bagman, not unless they wanted to be a few gold pieces short anyways.

BACKGROUND

quidditch: quidditch was in his blood. his father, Isaiah Bagman, was an athlete pulled straight from the legends, a master on his broom before an injury kept him off a broom after that. he introduced the sport to his sons, holding their hands as they saddled shakily over their small toy brooms. the farm which they lived on was perfect for windy afternoons atop a Cleansweep, pushing so high into the sky that it was just him and the birds. he breathes quidditch, and if all goes well, it’ll be a part of his life forever. he wants to go pro, to see his name in the papers, to feel the scream of the crowd. its the only thing he’s ever worked for in his entire life, and its the only thing he truly takes seriously about himself.

school: for awhile, school went okay. he was a slacker by nature, but he was quick with his wits and sharp in a test, and for awhile that was enough. his O.W.L’s were better than anyone ever guessed he would be, and aside from his tendency towards clownery, he wasn’t the worst student. but when his mother left this world, so did all of his will to care about his own education. he barely gets by now, scraping by just enough to satisfy his professors. when pushed to do better he just closes down and gets irritable, before shutting the conversation down entirely. 

family: before the incident, the bagmans were a relatively normal family. but ever since, they were a broken shell of the home they used to be. the love was still there. if anything, otto and ludo were closer than ever after needing to lean on each other after so many years. but things were not the same. holidays were different, and summers too. their home was too quiet and too far away, and it stifled and choked him until he wanted to sleep it all away. if it weren’t for his brother, he might have ended up running away as to not spend another second there. otto is on a different path now, running towards ambition and work. ludo worried that they were drifting apart, unable to understand each other anymore. 

tldr; bio: remus james lupin, born to wizard lyall and muggle hope lupin on march 10. his bright, curious childhood was cut short after an attack by werewolf fenrir greyback, which turned young remus into a werewolf as well. plagued by the curse of his transformation, the boy was forced into a life of isolation and solitude. it was the kindness of albus dumbledore, who reached out to young remus when he turned eleven and offered him a chance at a "normal" school education, and the resilient loyalty of his first friends that brought the life back to this little lone wolf.

WANTED CONNECTIONS —

(friends) — they’re there for him, whether they know about his condition or not, and he’s eternally grateful (and guilt-ridden) for all that they’ve done for him. whether they’re old friends he’s tried to push away “for their own protection” in the past or they’re new friends that he’s just getting to know, they add value and a richness to his life that he never had before hogwarts

(ex-friends) — they were close once, and now they’re not. it hurts remus, especially because he most likely blames himself. it could be because he successfully pushed them away “for their own good”, or because of a falling out they had. either way, he can’t help but look at them with those sad puppy eyes when they pass in the hall and kick himself for whatever he knows he must have done (even if he didn’t.) 

(romance) — it’s rare, but sometimes he’ll date. very rarely does it last long (usually at his doing) but it’s not as if he doesn’t want love. he likes the idea of it, but doesn’t think he has it in him to maintain anything because of his condition. he’ll often start to distance himself during that first full moon. relationships that last longer than a month eventually taper off one way or another. whether they dated in the past, almost dated, or are crushing now (requited or unrequited), remus either will or has handled it badly.

Logan Wilkes, Slytherin, ninth year, duelling is their only extracurricular because they care about . . . nothing

Literally they care about Cass and themself and that is it

Logan has been raised by their godparents but they aren’t full of weird regrets or longing over their birth parents; their family is their parents and Cass, and they don’t need anyone else

They are not super motivated for anything so they’re taking the minimum amount of classes and haven’t thought much about their future

They are interested in the Death Eaters because they don’t respect Muggle culture at all but they’re also just a little too lazy to try to get involved with the Death Eaters
