A circuitous vengeance fulfilled in the culling of Aizen, the Hōgyoku had come into Gin’s possession. Emerging the victor, the final confrontation had taken Gin’s right arm and inflicted a long slash which trailed from his collar down to the opposing hip. He knew he could not return what had been taken from Rangiku, for to place the Hōgyoku in her hands would only incur an impending danger.

A lapse in the absolute control he demanded over himself.
❝It is of little use to dwell upon that which has past, unless it is to serve as reference for how one may alter what has not yet occurred. For there lies possibility,❞ as he spoke with ease, he rested his wrist at the hilt of his wakizashi. ❝I hear there is an old power who has made himself known once more. The father of the Quincy,❞ his smile broadened as he pronounced the distinction. ❝An old enemy of Soul Society emergin’ not long after Capt’n Aizen’s demise. Rather amusin’ is it not?❞
