Send me a “💭“ and your Muse will experience one of my Muse’s Memories
The last image of Heaven that burned itself unto her retinas was that of her Mother’s cold and patronizing gaze and Mikaella, her closest friend, watching her in shock as she gripped tightly the handle of the blade she’d just assaulted her kin with. It was swift and fast, too fast even for her to realize what or when it happened. All that she knew was that her words were cut short and now she was falling backwards. Aimed towards the two entities, her outstretched arms instinctively reached out to grab unto their robes for support, but they were getting further and further away, faster than her mind could ever process how or why this all was possible. Only the first second, that one fleeting moment in which she saw their faces, the judgement in her Mother’s eyes and the sheer, instantaneous regret on Mikaella’s face. The blade coated in pure white essence which, in the dilution of that one moment, turned into dripping crimson. And then they faded into a singular, distant point, further and further away, the bright light around paling and fading by the moment.
But they weren’t fading away from her. This was her, it was her fading away from them.
She was falling. And the realization seemed to wrap around her body like an ancient beast’ talons, pulling her down, stealing her from her home and her sisters. Body once light and agile as thought itself nearly collapsed under the pressure of moving through time and matter, slipping from one realm to another, each feeling heavier than the one before, twisting and turning and flipping and rolling in it’s dramatic descend. Solid mass formed around her essence, enclosing every limb into a tight prison of bone and flesh. The sound of a heartbeat rand like thunder to the eardrums she was barely discovering she had and the first ever sound produced from thin vocal chords was a scream of agony.
In the realm of man Adrianna entered silently as a single beam of light struck from the nothingness of the the skies above. She greeted it alone, naked, face down into the dirt, feeling heavy as a mountain, trembling and shivering and feeling pain like never before. These bones, so many broken. This flesh, bruised and beaten. A thin, trembling hand reaches behind, over her shoulder. She tries to move her wings but her body gives her nothing. Hand is stained red and she begins to feel the warmth of blood dripping down her body.
In that moment Adrianna understands all. And she cries and screams and wails, hitting tightly curled fists against the moist ground underneath her.
