Adrian sat by the phone for the third straight hour. Piers was known for dipping in and out of town for a weekend but for almost a week straight? That was odd. Especially so considering he hadn’t told Adrian where he was going beforehand. She had called him eight times and left voicemails each time, asking him where he was and if he was safe. He could hold his own -- she knew that, but it scared the girl to know her best friend was missing. “Piers, please tell me where you are. If you’re in trouble you can tell me, you can trust me, please just talk to me, Piers I’m going crazy looking for you.” She spoke into the phone before hanging up and sitting her phone back down, waiting for a call back.

“I’d die for you.” The phrase Adrian had told Piers many times throughout their friendship. Adrian and her friend had just gotten into a rather large fight over Piers getting into fights with other students. He was a hot head and she knew he had just a big a temper as she did, and didn’t want him to lose control. They were both sat now sitting opposite each other in Adrian’s room. Without saying anything more she stood up and walked over to him, slid down the wall and sat on the floor with him. “I’m just trying to look out for you. I don’t want you to end up like I did,” She lied her head on his shoulder and sat with him before they talked out their problems and ended the night with a movie marathon.

“It’s not your fault.” Adrian repeated. She had snapped again and lost all control in her blinded rage, and was now being sent away. Piers’ head was hung low as Adrian gave him her parting words. “You’ll be okay. I’m sorry that I have to go -- but you know that I’m too dangerous to be here. I love you, Ducky.” She said with a laugh, tears now rolling down her face slowly. “We’re gonna see each other again. I promise.”
