Sephiroth decides to confront Hojo in Junon after all, before he's put to death. The answers he gets about his mother start him on a journey to find her.

This is a rewrite of sorts of an old part of "First Class" where Sephiroth goes back to Aerith's church alone because he's curious about something she said to him.

“Who are those people you spoke of the last time I was here?” he asked. She sat down beside him, setting the rod and basket down on the floor. “Doctor Gast and Ifalna,” she said, as if it were the simplest thing in the world, “My parents.”

Ifalna…

He remembered. A girl. Beautiful art on the walls of her room. Healing hands against his bandaged arms.

“In the labs…That was you.”

Aerith smiled. “You remember.”

“Those drawings in your room are still there. I have looked at them a lot over the years,” Sephiroth said.
