So this one might be a little weird, maybe I'm just over thinking things. My character is married to my partner's character. Both of them are part of an mmo. They have not been on their character for 8 months, we haven't rped together for even longer. They say i can just ask, but every time I did I would get 1 or 2 replys before they just stop again. So I gave up. I want to break up the characters, but I don't have an ic reason to do so. Last time I did this they became very passive aggressive.
You don’t HAVE to have a reason to break your characters up. If they no longer roleplay with you, have obviously showed this by barely responding when you have asked when they TOLD you that you can simply ask, and they haven’t been on their character in nearly a year, you can just make up a reason, or just cut it off without reason.
It’s not fair for you to have to keep holding onto the characters if the person doesn’t roleplay with you anymore.
If they become passive aggressive, tell them that it is completely unfair to you to keep them together when they haven’t roleplayed with you in ages, and even when you ask they respond maybe twice.
Do what you need to do to have fun with other people who want to roleplay with you. An IC connection shouldn’t have to be a barrier in that.
