Good morning people, I’m headed out today on a 60-mile Flint Hills trail ride with several good men. It’s great to take a minute out of the busy schedule this weekend and spend some time with a few dudes I haven’t seen in a while. Sometimes rest is in the form of an activity. For me, when I’m out here on these long rides and runs. I get to process a lot of things that have been going on. Spending time with men you can share some things with that are going on in my life. Even some of the things about the world and how I feel about that. Sometimes we like to just dump on each other, but that’s OK because that's what this is for. Riding and running for me is like a reset; I get to expend all that energy that I’ve been bottling up. And through that process, of Sharing, and finally, I begin to think it through and find myself in a different place amongst the world with a greater sense of appreciation. You get a new perspective on the world and about what I’m about to do going forward. I have much more clarity after one of these days despite the potential rains and thunderstorms that might be coming our way. If you can embrace the suck and get out of your comfort zone and a few guys start to build a try, but camaraderie let stronger than anything else you have ever seen before. Kind of like the British people in World War II who were being bombed daily for over 50 days straight in the blitz. Every night they were hunkered down together in the underground trying to save themselves and their families, but once dawn broke, they would get up and go about life if nothing was ever going on. They would be shaken and they wouldn't allow their dignity to be taken. They were some of the most resilient people in the worst time of history. I hope you have a wonderfulLabor Day weekend, and I’ll try to share some photos along the way and my thoughts. #fatherlessmen #humantrafficking #fatherlessmencareaboutyou #fatherlessmenpodcast #fatherlessmentors #bikelife #bikeride #leadership ##masculinity #mentalhealthawareness #labordayweekend #militarymen #veterans #christianmen #christiancycling #rainyday (at Leavenworth, Kansas) https://www.instagram.com/p/CTZ0k43sbQ3/?utm_medium=tumblr
