Some days, home felt like nothing more than a distant dream. When Misaki considered she had spent half of her lifetime in Hitsue away from it since, there was some level of bizarreness that couldnât quite process the concept. So it was more nostalgia that hit her than anything else to find herself standing behind the counter of Card Capital, observing the others at it across the shop. Was this a dream? Everything was still crystal clear, but Kai didnât seem to react abnormally. Then again, their longevity away from home had clued them into how things worked; he wouldnât have any idea when they came back, only when she spoke to him might they start to put the pieces together.
The jingle of the shopâs door chimed and its movement hissed, opening up to one familiar who didnât originate from the city. And that offered up a clue as to what was going on. She had come back to the scenery once before with Elatha, an illusion cast by the Stars, and Cloudâs appearance made clear something similar had transpired â which explained why things felt out of sorts with her vague perception.
A wry smile took centre stage to greet him whilst rising from her seat. âDidnât take you to be a fan of gamesâ.
