I did it! First step accomplished. I farmed all crystals. I don't know if I was just extremely lucky or if the drop rate is not as bad as most people claim. But then again I did not farm the crystals no matter what. My goal was: "One day, one area." This worked really well. But there were certain things I always considered.
I looked into the Party Finder and chose the area where there were the most Fate parties. If there was a severe lack of people in one area the farming surely took long. But if you had good parties, the FATEs were farmed rather quickly and thus you get faster to your crystals.
Also: Stick together! Everytime people decided to know better which FATE and split the group, the grinding got tedious. No matter how hard a FATE is, no matter if another FATE could be faster, you are always faster in a group. Follow the FATE train. Never go solo. The power of FATE grinding lies in the power of the group.
Thus usually it took me 2 hours max to get my three crystals in an area. Really. Not more. Everytime. Was I lucky? Or did I just choose the right time or the right parties? I don't say that those five hours without a crystal did not happen. But also I don't believe me so lucky that this worked everytime. Yes, really. One evening, three crystals.
I wish you all the best of luck with your crystals. But also remember: If it is no fun, don't do it. Also don't focus too much on that. If it gets tedious, stop it. If it stop being fun, stop the grinding. This is not designed to achieve in a heartbeat. It is a long term goal. Take it as such. Make short steps, but those regularly and you'll get your crystals. I believe in that.
