I know he was married, (check out Bullrun ‘04 when he was in the Chevy Avalanche, his wife Sue was his “co-pilot” haha and he wore his wedding band in Season 1 and some of 2), but we don’t know if he’s divorced or not at this point. I don’t think Discovery was expecting him to be so “desirable” to women who watch the show, and they might’ve told him to take his wedding band off. They probably figure the lack of the wedding band amps the sex appeal and gets people talking. Or he could be doing it to protect his wife who probably didn’t want any involvement in the show nor the garage. If he is still married or not, it’s not my business or any other fan’s. Richard is pretty much an open book but there’s a reason he’s silent about this - it’s really personal. He’s a real guy, not a character, with real feelings (Richard, feelings? Who would’ve thought!) so we have to respect his boundaries and privacy.
