Is there, by any chance, anything you know about Year 24 Group's relationship with Osamu Tezuka? I just know that he was friendly or at least acquainted with so many iconic comic artists, in Japan and all over the world, many of whom read his manga as kids. I read his biography a few times, but couldn't find anything. But I wouldn't be surprised if there was something, if they met or talked or drew together...
Hi!! Sorry for the late response, I was doing a bunch of research on this ^^
While I can't find anything about the Year 24 Group working directly with Osamu Tezuka, I do know they were influenced and inspired by him. Moto Hagio has said so herself! Which makes sense, as he WAS one of the pioneers of the shoujo genre and anime as a whole.
Other artists and authors like Shotaro Ishinomori, Masako Watanabe, and Kenji Miyazawa were also big influences.
Funnily enough, Shotaro Ishinomori started to publish HIS works in magazines after also being inspired by Osamu Tezuka!! So even if the Year 24 Group didn't work alongside him directly, a lot of things do circle back to him.
