Which Pattern?
Well, watching the videos the scarf actually produced by the laceweight yarn looks very short, so sock yarn should work just fine. Â Now I just need to see if I'm going to commit to the Palette or try for a different yarn with a good multitude of blues and grays. Â Malabrigo seems a bit too busy, but a good semi-solid might be great.
Now for the pattern, do I stick with the basic garter stitch, or try something else? Â I do like the feather and fan examples I've seen, but I've never actually knit that pattern. Â Grater stitch is great, and there's absolutely no chance of forgetting the pattern. Â But perhaps an old favorite, the farrow rib would do. Â I can practically knit that one in my sleep, and I think it will have the advantage of the edge being set back slightly. Â With a heavily variegated yarn it can look busy, but it might add visual interest to the scarf. Â
