After questioning Rory Fitzpatrick, Evie Jones, and Owen Summers regarding the events that led up to the discovery of Matt Banksâ body, Spenningdale police have decided to interview each person present at the party. They have acquired a list of the following people who were seen at the party at any point within the night:Â
Millie Tan
Alice Banks
George Brewer
Leo Vitale
Robin Oliver
Charlie Hopper
Jane Oliver
Sam Abbey
Amelia Spurling
If your character is on the list of people present at the party, please answer the following questions in-character as if they are being interviewed by police and post them as a self-para tagged #farmlandstask:
When did you arrive at the party?
How long did you stay for?
Who were you there with and who did you leave with?
Who did you interact with at the party?
Did you see anything strange?
Did you see Matt at the party or on your way to the party?
Below are the interviews from both Rory Fitzpatrick and Owen Summers:Â
âUm, this morning while I was cleaning up from the party⌠It mustâve been about 9?â
How many people were at the party?Â
âShit- ah, fuck, sorry. Itâs hard to say, the parties are always bigger than I plan for them to be, yeah? With people bringing people and all... But, um, probably like 70 or 80 I guess? Maybe 100?â
What time did the party end?Â
âAround 4 or 4:30, thatâs when the last few people filtered out, I think.â
Do you know if drugs were being circulated at the party?Â
âUh⌠Yeah. They were. God my parents are going to kill me⌠People were drinking, there was some weed, some pills, coke, Mandy, stuff like that. Shit- Iâm so sorry.â
Did you see Matt at the party?Â
âHmm. No, actually, canât say that I did? Which is odd, because when heâs at a party heâs usually hard to miss.â
What events led up to you finding the body?Â
âI woke up in the barn and started cleaning up the mess before my parents got home, ya know, typical post-party shi- stuff⌠Once things were cleared in the barn I walked around outside and down the path out back. I, uh, I thought that it was just someone whoâd passed out at the party, ya know? Just had too much to drink. But then when I walked through the brush I saw that it was Matt.â
Was there any suspicious behavior at the party?Â
âNah, I mean it was a typical party, yeah? But nothing out of the ordinary, that I saw anyway. Iâm sorry, I wish there was more I could tell you- but I was pretty drunk, yeah? If Iâd known something like this would happen, I would have never had the partyâŚâ
Provide us with a detailed account of your night on the 31st December, 2019.
âSure, my friends and I were pre-drinking until about uh⌠11 and then we went to the farm for the party. I was there all night and left at probably 3 am with my girlfriend. Oh, and I did leave the party just after midnight as some of my friends were passing through on their way to the next town over, so we just, you know had a drink somewhere else, but then I came back to the party.â
And your girlfriend -
âYeah, Charlie Hopper. Iâm sure she can account for that. She came back to mine and we didnât sleep right away, soâŚâ
Based on your previous cautions and arrests, it is strongly suspected that you deal drugs. Matt was found with a burner phone with texts to a drug dealer. Do you have any information about this? Do you know who he was texting with?
âNo. No, Iâve got no idea.â
For the purposes of the recording, we undertook a search of you and took your phone. Are you sure you donât know who he was texting with?
âYeah and you can check my phone. I still donât know who he was texting.â
It seemed like from the texts he owed his dealer quite a bit of money. He was also found with a bag of coke on him. Do you know where he wouldâve gotten this from?
âHis drug dealer Iâd imagine.â
As you are in custody, we would now like to insist on retrieving fingerprints, footprints and taking your shoes for some tests. You will receive these back.

Following the memorial event, Owen Summers is brought in for questioning. He is questioned for several hours and has to give his shoes for testing at one point. He is released from questioning on the note of âwe are waiting for test resultsâ, but it is clear to everyone that Owen is the number one suspect in this case.Â
It is also determined that interviewing the partygoers is now a priority after they receive one witness testimony stating the following:
âI donât know why he was found at the farm... I mean, I donât know why he was dead in the first place, but specifically at the farm. He wasnât even at the party. I was there the whole night and I know everyone and he just wasnât there...â - Annie Gordon
After the last of the party guests had filtered out near 4am, Rory had stumbled his way back into the barn and laid down on a stack of hay bales, passing out with is dog Biscuit beside him. Now, he felt himself waking up to the feeling of Biscuit licking his face. He moved his hand to scratch the dogâs head, his eyes still tightly shut from the morning sunlight filtering in through the open barn doors. Rory groaned and sat up, not failing to notice the dull headache and dry mouth that came with the typical hangover. He looked down at his watch and saw that it was half past 8, and his parents were to arrive back at noon, so he rubbed at his face to wake himself up and stood to begin cleaning up the typical post-party mess.
Rory reached into his pocket for his nearly drained phone and earbuds, playing some music to pass the time. He hummed to himself, nodding to the music as he walked around the barn; picking up the bottles and cans that littered the ground and throwing them in an empty barrel that sat in the corner. He made his way out of the barn to assess the mess outside, patting his leg so Biscuit would follow. He continued to clean things up, moving onto the path that ran near the backside of the barn.
As he walked down the path, he noticed something in the sunlight through the brush. Rory moved closer and noticed that it looked like a person on the ground. He chuckled, assuming it was someone whoâd been too drunk or tired to walk back home. âAlright, mate?â He called out, pulling out his earbuds as he pushed through the brush, pausing as he looked down at the body. For a moment, Roryâs hungover and addled mind didnât process what he was seeing- it was Matt Banks, but he was pale, really pale, and swollen, with cuts and bruises covering his face. Rory staggered back in horror, immediately doubling over and throwing up all the alcohol heâd had throughout the night. Rory looked around, panicked, running both of his hands through his hair. âFuck⌠Fuck.â He frantically reached for his phone in his pocket, dialing 999. When the dispatcher answered, he stumbled over his words. âUhh I-Iâve just found a um body on my farm. A dead body⌠I donât know what to do, I donât know what happened, please just send someone.â The dispatch asked a few questions, then Rory gave his address and hung up. He looked down at Biscuit then back to where Mattâs body was lying, in shock as tears flooded his eyes. He fell back onto the ground, pulling his knees to his chest and burying his face as he sobbed. âHow the fuck did this happen?â He remained in that position until he heard the police and emergency vehicles growing closer.
- WITNESSES: The police have collected, what they believe to be, a pretty accurate list of those in attendance at the party. They plan to interview them to determine if they could prove to be helpful witnesses. Characters on this list and made an appearance at the party: Millie Tan, George Brewer, Alice Banks, Leo Vitale, Charlie Hopper, Jane Oliver, Robin Oliver, Owen Summers, Sam Abbey, Evie Jones and Amelia Spurling.Â
- INTERVIEWS: The only characters who have been formally interviewed as of right now are; Rory Fitzsimmons, as he discovered the body and was the host of the party and Evie Jones, as his live-in partner.Â
- AUTOPSY: it was determined that although Matt suffered several wounds/cuts/bruises, the cause of death was manual strangulation. He has heavy fingerprints around his neck, however it is thought the killer wore gloves as little to no DNA evidence remains. Matt had a high amount of alcohol and cocaine in his system, suggesting he had been incredibly intoxicated at the point of murder. It is thought he died between the hours of 4 - 4:30 am.Â
- SCENE OF THE CRIME: Matt was found in the middle of the muddy fields, located roughly 80 metres from the main party barn. Several footprints were discovered within a 10 metre distance from the body and they are still in the process of being examined. Matt had empty remains of a bag of coke, loose change and a burner phone on him.Â
- EVIDENCE: They have uncovered what appears to be a burner phone owned by Matt. Several messages between unidentified phone numbers have been recovered, including several months worth of drug negotiating. These messages corroborate that Matt had a drug dealer and had drugs on his person the night of his death. It is known information that there is one active drug dealer in the village, although previously they have not been able to arrest him on anything major. He was even seen at the party that night - Owen Summers.Â
NOTE: Most of this information will remain as speculation/rumours for the characters, however Finn will have full knowledge of all these points and Evie/Rory will know anything regarding their interviews.Â
