a martyr in my bed || juli & leo
@farcuche
In the year since heād last seen his wife, heād gone from just being a regular militiaman to becoming President Monroeās right-hand, to becomingĀ President Monroe. Itās been a wild year, honestly, but heās been feeling her absence next to him every day of it. Thatās why, in his last letter to her, heād invited her to Philadelphia, so that he didnāt have to go another day without her here.
Honestly, Leo missed Juli almost as much as he missed his mother, so abruptly taken away from him without giving him a chance to say goodbye. It was a wound that cut deep, and he knew that without the last living part of his family, heād go crazy trying to run the Republic by himself. Heād watched it happen to his father, how bad heād gotten over the last however many years since Miles defected.
So, for his own well-being, Leo is eagerly awaiting the arrival of his wife, so that he could be the first to greet her on her way into the city. It shouldnāt be a surprise, then, that heās ditched his security detail to hop up into the driverās seat of the carriage next to her as a surprise.
āHey, darling.ā
