Sute: Sute’s recreation is mostly just vegging out in front of the television, and reading lots of movie trivia and trashy Buzzfeed articles.. She doesn’t have a really creative hobby. She throws all her inventive thinking into her dream eating business and Student Council.
Fane: Cooking. Now that he’s gotten a bit older and good at it, he cooks more experimentally and for recreation than pure necessity. He makes the stuff his grandma taught him when he’s homesick: jambalaya, yaka mein, and stuffed peppers. (It’s a dead give away to Sute, and they spend the rest of the night eating and watching B horror movies.)

Sute: I mean if you want an extreme example, she’ll take her veil off around you. You have to be someone she feels comfortable around and who imbues her with some self-confidence.
Fane: I know there’s a separate icon for verbal trust, but idgaf. Fane’s more likely to showcase trust verbally, by expressing his doubts. He’s got some hard-edged morals, a strong sense of what his duties are, and lots of self-confidence so when he begins to falter in any of those things he gets really scared.
I didn’t think cooking was gonna be such a big part of Fane’s character but it is. He has a bunch of recipe books and everything. Can’t bake for shit though. Too much measuring and precision. He is amazed by bakers.

So I really never feel like drawing Solomon and Skinner - so I made it so that they retract into a ‘tattoo’ on Fane’s back, and only pop out when they want to talk and advise Fane. In my personal chimera mythos, these back markings are naturally occurring, and additional man made tattoos are rights of passage. When Fane was 16 he got his ‘mane’, the tattoo on his neck. As a chimera gets older they get their claws (hands and arms), their maw (mouth), haunches (legs), eyes (cheeks), etc. Certain occurrences warrant their own tattoos as well such as bearing children, burying children, and surviving terminal illness.
