Artist’s insight:  This piece is like my most put effort in working on it at the time. And this is my first time working for any zine ever. XD But It's so much fun!

After battle kiss: A Smooches sneak peak by @brunettereader

Writer’s insight:  I've read 100 variations of an "after battle kiss," and I always wanted to try my hand at it. The first line popped in my head one night, and after that, this piece was like running down a hill.

Comforting kiss: A Smooches Sneak Peak by @gesuriel

Artist’s insight:  It's mostly about the eyes - I really like how they turned out and I don't think many people are going to notice it in the full piece. It's been a struggle to reconcile my new job and working on this, but I enjoyed every bit of the process; It’s my first legit comic page, first time I’ve experimented a bit with textures and first time I’ve tried such a bold lighting. All the poses are out of my comfort zone too and I don’t think I’d try it all without it being for my first zine ever.

Surprise kiss: A Smooches Sneak Peak by @sleapea and @xuune

Artist’s insight:  To be honest, I struggled with this piece. There was a lot of revisiting of ideas on how to capture this moment that Nat drew in the fic, and there were details that I forgot when drawing the setting. This part of the piece (besides the kiss) was a small detail I liked doing because it made the scene more realistic (since both are in a space pod and all, lol), and it helped me consider more about the settings I need to create based on a piece of writing I am drawing a scene for.

Writer’s insight:  I loved working with xuune to create this piece. It was the first time I've ever done a collab like this, and I think it turned out quite well. I hope you all enjoy what we came up with!!!
