your tags on that "the ship is fine but why is it everywhere" post SO FREAKING TRUE imma be real i think stanxeno is great but i think alot of good discussion of their dynamic and their influences on one another is undercut by the heavy focus on shipping. idk ik i have specifically branded myself as the senchrome guy lol [ which i do need to say in my defense love platonic senchrome more! >.< ] and even though shipping will obviously always be a deeply important part of fandom it kind of feels like to me that becuase theres such a lack of romantic content in dr stone itself the fandom pushes to over compensate, if that makes sense? like do you know what i would do for platonic sengen fanfiction, do you know what i would do?
i think alot of good discussion of their dynamic and their influences on one another is undercut by the heavy focus on shipping. <- I LOVE the idea of platonic stanxeno or just complicated stanxeno a lot. Neither of them may exactly want to commit to a romantic relationship, and that happens with a lot of real friendships. And, with platonic stanxeno, it reminds of my childhood best friend (who I'm still friends with) and it makes me realize how INCREDIBLY close you can be to a person without it being romantic or directly familial.
Also, it's so real being a shipper AND non-shipper of something. Like they could have romantic potential and they could have platonic potential. That's one of the reasons I hardly ever call myself a shipper of any non-canon ship. Senku & Kohaku for example have such a cool dynamic that I would LOVE to be explored in multiple ways

Ryusui (I'm using him as an example since I think it's the best one) has no canon partner and no one specific he might be interested in, he loves EVERYONE! I really love the fact that he stays himself and wholly loving. And I feel as though, when people ship him a lot, they tone him down a little? If that makes sense
