I just saw someone posting on tumblr about how she will delete her AO3 account not just because of the current shitty i/p war controversy, but also because proshippers don't respect her boundaries despite having "proshippers DNI" tagged on her fics. Ma'am first that's an archive, a huge digital library, not a social media platform. Second AO3 is The Proshipper Site™️ one of its creators is/was a Wincest shipper, I don't know what you expected. 🤦‍♀️

People that have that specific “DNI” have zero self-awareness, because guess what? Many, and I do mean many of the media that fandoms are based around have dark content or content that can make the audience uncomfortable and A03 like that response I’m referring to said, the ARCHIVE was made by a Wincest shipper. My disgust towards incest ships aside, I will always be grateful that the Archive exists as an archive of fan content instead of trying to be another social media copycat where the reporting system barely even works and is a joke when it comes to false reports.

It is all types of ironic that antis will go into spaces with the same EXACT content they find disgusting and just harass and bully others in the fandom over said content.

Like no, Karen, if you hate the incest THIS BADLY to the point where you post a DEATH THREAT targeting people that like incest ships, maybe don’t go into a fandom where an incest ship is the most popular ship. I’m just saying. Or y’know, BLOCK PEOPLE.

And since this is specifically related to fanfics, on A03, you can put that cool little blue lock on your fics so that only registered users can comment or you can have the option to look at a comment before you approve it. A03 also has filters so that you won’t have undesirable content every time you’re trying to search for a fic. Tumblr obviously has a block feature and a feature that lets you filter specific tags, so that if you don’t want a specific ship in your face every time you try to search for your favorite, you can use one or both of those features.

One of the annoying things about antis who think incest fics warrant censorship and bullying is, if they still use AO3 and someone points out the irony, they'll just say "well, there is nowhere else to find and post fics that is as good as AO3!". And I just think to myself, gee, I wonder why? Maybe it's because unlike those other sites, there is markedly less censorship? Put two and two together, for the love of all that is holy. These people are so close to getting it, but they just don't. That's on top of the whole fact that, you know, if they really think fictional incest scenarios are that horrible to exist, they presumably wouldn't even want to touch a website that hosts said fics. But they do. The leaps in logic they must use to justify their behavior...
