#fandom problem 12025

Weird people logic. Basically what I have noticed:

- If the ship is m/m, you are apparently sexist because it doesn't include a woman and are centering men.

- If the ship is f/m, your sexist because it includes a man and is therefore, apparently, male centric.

- If the ship is f/f, you are also sexist, because one of them is clearly manlyer than the other.

I am unfortunately not making this up. Of other people have other examples, please let us know.

But I obviously don't agree with this, just ship and let ship and block the weirdos.

What's equally stupid is when those exact same fans will claim that the aggressive, muscular, short-haired tomboy is so obviously lesbian-coded. Because, clearly, she was traumatized by a man in the past. Which is how lesbians are 'created' or something. Make it make sense.

I was called lesbophobic for shipping a m/f rarepair, even though the woman in the relationship has NEVER been confirmed in cannon to be a lesbian. She's just friends with another woman but the fandom insists they're lesbians but the "evidence" is super vague and can be interpreted as both platonic & romantic because it falls into the "subtext has double meanings" category

A post pointing out that no matter what you ship, people accuse you of something. A other post sharing their experience with being called sexist no matter what they ship.

A person in the comments, "well it is not sexism but fetishizing gay men, I assume you are a woman and therefore fetishizing gay men! And I believe it is true, because of the behaviour of one specific fandom and I base that on a article that I haven't linked to!"

Firstly commentor, I want to thank you for proving my point, that no matter on what kind of relationship you ship people will accuse you for the most insane shit they possly can imagine. And conclude their conclusion based on their own ill intentions and not actual reading comprehension and actually understanding the subject that's been talk about. You proved that to me by only focusing on m/m shippers and coming to a rather misogynistic conclusion about why woman like things woman might like. When this wasn't about m/m and woman in the first place.

Anyway, dear commentor, I want to tell you I know now all I need to know about you, for assuming that m/m fandom people are all cis straight women that only like things because they are aroused by it.

All fandom's can be toxic and behave in a way I would consider toxic, but this topic was about that people come to wierd conclusions based on different kinds of ships. And you kind of proven that people indeed do that. I cannot help but wonder why you immediately grabbed the change to shit over women. I have seen so many wierd and toxic behaviours also from f/f and m/f fans but I also don't attack them. Why are you immediately attacking m/m fans because of the behaviour of the loud minority?

As a genderblind person (as in seeing gender as a lesser information coming after the character's personality and traits coming way first in the front), I really don't get that hate spiel on how a hetero ship would be different from a homo ship just because the gender changed.

Said changed character have same traits, same personality, same age, ... Same everything but just the gender, right?

What's the big deal seriously?

Also, like, if you're so desperate for a pedophile conspiracy, the government of the USA is currently releasing highly redacted files that contain evidence of a well-known sex trafficker being involved with the current president in an effort to protect said president and discredit anyone speaking out against him... so, uh, there's that. But I guess that isn't as entertaining (I use this sarcastically) as a famously child-friendly company secretly running a sex trafficking ring like a plot right out of a thriller.
