Here is their story in Lucy's words:

The Save Klaine Project came about a little over a week ago, when I read the article on afterelton.com.  I was incensed, horrified, but in a strange way not all that surprised.  My partner, my friends and I had all been noticing for some time that all signs of romance and intimacy had been removed from their relationship.  While many of us kept trying to rationalize what was happening, we all knew that something was deeply wrong with the situation.

My partner and I were so upset by afterelton.com’s confirmation of our suspicions, that it prompted the two of us (both busy women with full lives and hectic careers) to start a blog to try to enact change.  We found this revelation of censorship to be disturbing on a number of levels.  Primary among these was a certainty that if we're ever to achieve true equality in society, then gay relationships on television need to be portrayed in a similar fashion to those of their straight counterparts (honestly and with open expressions of affection and love).

In addition, Olivia and I found this censorship to be personally painful.  We have always joked that Kurt and Blaine’s relationship closely mirrors our own (except, of course, for the facts that we are both girls, and that we do not spontaneously burst into song and dance in public places :).  We met in high school, fell in love, and have been together ever since.  We have long lamented the fact that there are never realistic portrayals of gay couples on television.  The portrayals of gay people on television are often cringe worthy, unrealistic, stereotypical  and damaging.  Kurt and Blaine’s relationship was the first one we could honestly say was a positive and realistic portrayal. Which is why the removal of it by Fox is so overwhelmingly painful to us both.
