#fandom convention

As a (hopefully) first time Artist Alley artist at a fandom heavy convention this year, I'd like to know what people are most likely to buy at a con! Stocking up for a first time is very intimidating and costly, and even though this isn't an exact science, I'd like to see what people are thinking!!

If you ever went to a convention, were you able to find people to talk to or find fans who were the same ig, type of fan as you, or did you struggle to find people to talk to or be friends with? Like, could you easily find people your age who ship the same ship(s) as you and like the same characters and appreciate the same actors? (part 2)

As much as we want to hang out with you all in Chicago, we know not everyone is able to attend the IRL con. That’s why we’ve decided to continue doing Virtual CONfab in addition to the October con! Virtual CONfab 2023 will be April 29-30 through platforms like Conline, Discord and Zoom. April is a pretty quick turnaround in con time, so registration is opening up on January 16th, and programming submissions will open soon after.

We can’t wait to see you again!

Some photos of my lineup from Galaxycon this past weekend. This was my first time going for three days rather than two, and while I thoroughly enjoyed every minute of it, I am very exhausted, and probably won’t go over two days for a very long time lol.

Friday was super fun. I was not expecting the amount of love my Glamrock Bonnie cosplay got. I lost count of the amount of people that stopped to talk with me and take photos. Someone drew my cosplay and gave it to me! I almost cried. I very much enjoyed participating in the fnaf photoshoot that happened in the evening, I met so many nice people there, and I loved being a little menace that was posed to hit people with my wooden guitar. I also got to meet Kellen Goff at his booth! That was a ton of fun, he called me a superstar lol. 

Saturday was more chilled out. The highlight of the day (and the whole weekend for me really) was getting to meet Brendan Fraser. I watched the Mummy movies a lot as a kid (when I was probably a little too young to be doing so) and he was a big chunk of my childhood. Being able to see him while I was dressed as Evie, and have him interact with me in character is an experience I will never forget. He is the sweetest person and absolutely deserves the world. 

Sunday was also more chilled out. I was winding down and we had mostly seen who we had come to see and were chilling out. I’m glad I found some tokyo mew mew merch, and a few people recognized me as Rani from the Pixie Hollow books (though one person thought I was Zelda, and I’m pretty sure another family assumed I was Elsa at one point).
