Sam and Max freelance police as new humans / players in tadc, either they knew each other before the circus or their vibes just mesh really well.
Also, their usual looks (anthropomorphic dog and bunny like creature) are their avatars. I honestly don't think you'd have to change anything about their appearances in order to fit them into tadc.
Orrr, they are extremely human like NPCs that trick Caine into believing that they're actually humans / new players.
Jax would make fun of Max for being a short bunny and then get his arms bitten off / he would get the same treatment that he gave evil jax during episode 5 (also Sam wouldn't stop Max, he would just say his usual "you crack me up little buddy")
They'd probably both enjoy Kinger's presence because he's usually their level of insane (when not in darkness).
Edit: This was worded wrong, I mean, like, he would do his usual insane behaviour. They would find it entertaining and would respect him for his level of goof. For some reason, the quote "words of wisdom, gramps!" From the Sam and Max animated show comes to mind when I think of Kinger plus the freelance police :P
Zooble might dislike them? Because they're like, similar to Jax in terms of being chaotic and causing problems for others, but Sam and Max also dislike Jax, so...
Ragatha might treat them how she treats Jax? And then warm up to them eventually because??? Their vibes are better?? Or at least Sam is more considerate than Jax is so???
I think gangle and pomni might see Sam and Max the same way they see Jax? (With less of Gangle being the main target of bullying and Pomni trying to sympathise with them (Jax has issues, Sam and Max don't - there is genuinely no reason to try and look deeper because they're literally just insane and chaos junkies)).
Idk how Caine would feel about them, like, I think they would like his adventures because, once again, they're chaos junkies. But like... mmmmm
P.s. I'm writing this with the idea that Sam and Max would exist and interact with the group before episode 8. Also, they would kill it during episode 6 adventure, like shooting guns is basically a part of their job.
