there’s nothing wrong with being self-important!! there’s a difference between being self centered and self important. beinf self important is completely fine as well as healthy. finding yourself important and prioritizing yourself is healthy and a good thing :)

I agree in what you’re saying, but I guess I see “self-important” more as taking myself MORE important, in situations that don’t call for it/make it awkward; like talking about one’s own things instead of listening properly. Or at first thinking “well I don’t care” when other people struggle or talk about something, and having to actively counter-act that first, mean instinct. I’ve gotten better at communicating it but yeah- hhh.
