what? what, what, what? he pauses, eyebrows furrowing for a moment as raihan looks on with utter confusion.  ❛  w ... we’ve been tryin’ for a bit, yes. i  -  ❜  it finally hits him though  &  the dawning realization shows in the way his expression changes from confusion to disbelief, then from there on, raihan’s expression melts into awe.  ❛  no ... no way, that’s why you ...? that’s why you went to the doctor’s earlier?  ❜  leon nods  &  his staged anxiety is replaced with giddy delight, repeating himself: i’m pregnant —  he’s fucking pregnant! his brain repeats  &  it’s a whirlwind of emotions. but the first thing that happens is that raihan is pulling leon into a deep kiss, wrapping his arms around his husband so securely.

this felt like a dream,  &  raihan clung so desperately to this as a silent plea for it to be real. it is  &  he knows it, but he feels so weightless  &  heavy at the same time. his heart hammering in his chest when he pulls away  &  exclaims,  ❛  you’re pregnant!  ❜  yes, as if leon didn’t say it twice now. but he is! he is  &  raihan is so excited! he’s .... he’s also scared, actually, raihan’s terrified. he knows for sure that everything will go swimmingly, the pregnancy will be fine  —  there’s nothing that will tell him otherwise. but that hopefulness is also scaring him, gods above, he feels like he’s about to combust from all that he’s feeling.

❛ i know this is real ‘n’ all but .. i don’t -  ❜  he feels something hot  &  wet trek down his face, his throat feeling so tight; the lump only making it worse to speak.  ❛  i didn’t think this would ever happen i’m - i’m sorry, i don’t mean to - augh,  ❜  he fights with endless tears as he begins to wipe them away only for them to be replaced by new tears.  ❛  i  —  i .....  ❜  raihan’s trailing off again  &  he sees leon’s bright, wide smile  &  listens to the sound of his giggling at the sight of raihan basically dissolving into a puddle of tears before him. raihan doesn’t blame him, either. after all, leon’s beginning to tear up as well as a result  &  his giggle is thick with warbling before he’s pulling raihan back into another hug.

we’re gonna be fathers. leon seems to whisper to him  &  it strikes even more chords with raihan’s heart that he’s clutching at leon’s shirt, hiding his face away in the curve of his neck. his back is being rubbed comfortingly as he becomes a sniffling mess in the arms of his husband. which isn’t anything new, really  —  but this time around is so much more ... impactful. they’re going to be fathers!  &  ...  &  raihan would have a family of his own - he’d ... he’d have a family to come home to  &  care for  &  ... ! suddenly, raihan is pulling away from leon’s embrace only to tuck his arms under leon  &  he sweeps his husband off his feet!

of course, leon exclaims before dissolving into another giggle fit as he presses the ball of his palm into an eye to rub at it, rai, be careful! he comments but he’s still laughing before leaning into his chest, nuzzling into raihan’s neck. the dragon tamer can only laugh along with leon as he’s already carrying him out of his office  &  into the living room, careful as he sits down. leon now in his lap.
