   he'd seen young humans before in his own kingdom, at the mouth of his river near the ocean - where a small community of men had lived for generations. he did not dislike those men nor did he favor them, despite the offerings that had been thrown into his river in order to appease him. peculiar things he held no value or inclination for, such as the vibrant flowers that decorated the land farther in than he had ever cared to explore - much like the flower that this young human held in her hands.Â
   from the limited observations he'd had of men and their offspring, they were often far more boisterous and less reserved than the young one here. her gaze seemed distant and peculiar - like a wounded creature struggling to gauge its' own injury through shock, despite the apparent lack of physical injury. crouching low, he began to step forward curiously - albeit with more than his fair share of caution for encountering a being so small. a quiet chirrup was all he gave to gain her attention, followed by a quick gesture with his hands to ask, 'hurt?'
