If I had only known this would be my last road trip for a while, I would’ve soaked it all in more. 🏔 ⠀⠀ The babe and I did a day trip from Sacramento to South Lake Tahoe for our friends birthday. Her boyfriend had flown in from the Army in WA, so we also got to see him and catch up. ⠀⠀ We hiked around Fallen Leaf Lake (10/10 recommend), soaked in the hot springs at Grover, and grabbed burgers & shakes at Burger Lounge. Lake Tahoe IS pretty, but there are definitely other lakes in that area you shouldn’t miss! ⠀⠀ I recently hiked around Fallen Leaf Lake, about 20 mins from South Lake Tahoe, and it was stunning! It reminded me so much of Alaska. I mean, LOOK at it! Who would guess this was California?! 🏔 ⠀⠀ Another must-see lake here is Echo Lake. Although sometimes, depending on the scene, they create boundaries for our imagination and memories. Regardless of what a camera captures, their is no substitute for the combination of our eyes, brains, and hearts. It's just too bad that we tend to forget as time moves forward. But this is also how time is able to heal and allows us to grow.
