I heard about the Bausch & Lomb x NASA patent for a fake sun, but I didn’t think it was already being used. After taking several photos of the “sun” with my iPhone camera and using some simple filters to darken the surrounding sky, it is absolutely undeniable that this light source above us is not a true sun. Look at the shape; it looks exactly like the images of the sun simulator from the patent. In one of my photos, the light was being cast like a spotlight or flashlight (directional beam); the sun as we believed it would be so far away that the light would appear uniform and encompass the entire Earth.
