Red Flags of Dating Death
Honestly.
Yesterday, I got my first dick pic. This was completely unsolicited, and AFTER I had already told the guy that I was not interested in a dick pic.
I was at work when this lovely message came through and as soon as I saw it, I told him we were absolutely done and that I had already told him no to those types of pics.
And guys out there who are actually nice guys (though I feel like I have yet to find these mystical unicorns in the wild) are going to suffer because no woman who is out there is untouched by a damn unwanted dick pic, which makes them wary of even talking to guys on these apps.
This experience has led me feel the need to post about red flags and why every woman needs to be on the lookout for these assholes.
1. If the guy you are talking to has NO social media except for Kik or Snapchat. With one exception in my experience, this has been a huge red flag.
2. If the guy you are talking with says you should absolutely meet, but then leaves you on read/delivered for DAYS after you have offered a place and time to meet, ghosts you during the day you were supposed to meet, and then texts you three days after that to see how you are.... The man is not interested in you enough to cancel or say heโs changed his mind or that something has come up. YOU. DESERVE. RESPECT. He is NOT respectful of your time or your feelings if he does this.
3. If you tell a guy that you donโt want to sext and you donโt want dick pics, and he blows past these boundaries you have already laid out for him - RUN. This man is here for attention and power, and thinks you are desperate enough to fall to your knees, grateful that he is paying attention to you. FUCK. THAT. You picked the wrong damn bitch this time, buddy!
Also, if youโre going to send me a dick pic (and ONLY IF I ASK YOU TO), FOR THE LOVE OF THE D, DO NOT take a shot while you are sitting on the toilet taking a crap, with your shorts around your ankles and your knee-high socks poking through the top of the shorts. So not sexy or arousing. You just look like a creeper.
4. Watch out for those fake profiles, ladies.
If the photo is absolutely SMOKING hot, or looks like screenshot, or based on your experience is NOT the type who has ever come on to you, heโs probably a scammer or catfish or whatever.
Ask for a โproof of lifeโ photo - a photo of him with a newspaper from today or a piece of paper with his user name and a funny message that includes your name that he holds up, or a video of him saying your name in the message. MAKE. SURE. HEโS. LEGIT.
Guys who are not legit will not respond to these requests and suddenly, YOUโRE GHOSTED because youโve figured out his ploy.
I am sure there are others, but these are just a few that I have personally experienced in the last few weeks.
Always remember that YOU. DESERVE. RESPECT. Do not let anyone blow past your boundaries and do not let anyone guilt or manipulate you into doing something you are uncomfortable with (sending sexy pics or talking dirty or whatever it is that makes you uncomfortable), especially after only talking to someone for less than 5 minutes. Any decent guy will NOT ask you for these right away and if they do ask you for something like that, they are NOT THE ONE.
