❛ oh, shit, hey veronica! ❜ he smiles nervously, heart thumping -- GOD, he hated having feelings! smile is forced, mostly because if he didn’t, he’d probably EXPLODE. jared tries not to comment on how cute she looks today. ❛ what are you up to? heather have you on another lunchtime poll or something? ❜ 

          it had been an act of pure rage.  her family was shit, and it had gone a step too far last night. she’d stormed from her trailer, and thought to herself  why not start some real trouble.  and that’s exactly what she had done. glass had shattered, trash bin on fire and the orange hues had danced across her face as she smiled. of course she hadn’t been able to get away from the cops in time. but her boyfriend, wonderful man he was bailed her out and now here she was, cigarette between her lips as she leaned against the porch rail, waiting for her friend to come out of her home.

      “Veronica?” It feels... WRONG, somehow, when Heather’s the one to find Veronica curled on the floor. Not with pills shoved halfway down her throat, thank god -- but she doesn’t think that she’s ever seen the nearly unflappable girl this shaken before, either. So she’s kneeled down beside the distraught girl before she even realizes -- white knee-highs be damned -- taking one of Veronica’s hands between her own. “God, Ronnie, is everything okay?”

         this  has  always  been  his  least  favorite  part  of  the  job.  shooting  is  his  forte,  killing  is  ------  talking  to  other  people,  though?  he’s  damn  near  clueless  on  that  matter.  not  to  mention  how  uncomfortable  he  gets  in  suits.  green  eyes  search  around  the  diner,  taking  in  his  surroundings,  ensuring  he  knows  all  the  exit  points  in  case  he  needs  to  bolt.  finally  eyes  land  on  the  waitress  in  front  of  him  and  gruff  voice  finally speaks,  ❝  do  you  have  time  for  a  few  questions?  ❞

          ❝  did  i  ever  tell  you  that  i  did  a  blood  pact  when  i  was  younger?  ❞  the  meaning  behind  it  was  important  to  him  and  all  the  losers,  but  he’s  still  not  even  sure  how  he  managed  to  convince  himself  to  do  it  with  how  unsanitary  the  process  was.  then  again,  anything  seemed  better  than  the  shit  that  the  leper  projected  onto  him.  ❝  not  too  long  before  we  ended  up  meeting  actually. ❞
