Hey! I know a lot of my friends on social media are super into fitness and I just wanted to shed light (or shade?) on the topic of âfitness influencersâ like this woman in a Muscle Madness ad that I saw, named Heba Ali. She has a great physique and her content is inspiring and motivating, yes, but she uses props (fake weights) in a lot of her content.
I used to think that most of EVERYTHING I saw on social media about fitness was true. My personal fitness goals have always been specific to both physique and level of physical ability. Heba Ali portrays a level of physical ability that her physique doesnât enable her to reach, as proven when she was exposed for using fake weights on youtube. I say this because she had to use fake weights in at least a majority of her video clips in order to perform these exercises. (Notice how easy some of them seem for her.) Heba Ali canât look the way she does and do what sheâs trying to portray she can. She would need more strength, more muscle.
Iâm by no means discrediting all influencers or saying that fitness looks a certain way. All Iâm saying is that if youâre looking to influencers on the internet for inspiration and motivation, I think itâs important to be cautious of the content you allow to brain to consume and believe to be true, and know if youâre looking at the content of an athlete or an actor.
The easiest way to flex on social media is pumping plastic.
File this under "no shit, sherlock".
