I spent today customizing this barbie wheelchair to use as a reference model for Punk from my comic (/eventual cartoon?) Fairyspace! The things I learned in my stopmotion class back in scad really helped with this project! The original chair was fine for what it was, but I needed a model where the wheels were at the center of gravity and tilted outwards. I made the custom axel out of a couple of extendable magnet pens I had lying around, and it's secured to the chassis via epoxy and reinforced sewing thread. I also threw together a temp pair of back wheels for stability out of some washers and armature wire. I am overall extremely pleased with how this turned out, and am hoping to use it to make better wheelchair animations and comic panels in the future! Additional details in the alt text!
