Seperation. I wanted to make my own little tribute to this awesome show. ❤ While I understand the ending, a part of me still wishes Jax had been rescued, especially after hearing him say, "I don't wanna go!"
In this illustration, Ribbit appears as a digital apparition beside him because Jax is glitching so severely that he can still sense her presence as she forgives and comforts him one last time, while Pomni is pulled away by the rest of their friends, forcing their hug to break. By hugging Pomni and accepting responsibility for his actions, he found redemption, so this was my way of showing that the person he hurt the most was there to witness that moment.
I also like to imagine that, one day, if the corrupted files of the abstracted characters were ever restored, they could return to their original avatar forms, but we may never see that happen, unfortunately.
