BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:
• Octavian was born in Chicago, Illinois. At the age of ten, his mother took on a job across the country, which landed them in Fairford, Washington. She thought it would be a good place to raise her child, and for her son to see more of the world, beyond just the inner city. At the time, Octavian didn’t care for the change, but as time went on, he genuinely enjoyed his new location.
• In High School, Octavian was a standout in both baseball and basketball. His mother didn’t allow him to play football, which he reluctantly respected the wishes of. Despite being a bit of a “smart-mouth” as labeled by a few of his teachers, Octavian’s grades were average, despite opting to go out with friends rather than study.
• Octavian received a few baseball scholarships, opting to attend UCLA. However, after his freshman year, his mother needed assistance at home due to an illness. This prompted him to move back home, finishing his Education degree locally. This was humiliating to Octavian, having to return home after enjoying his independence in sunny Socal.
• After taking a P.E. position at a middle school in the Seattle area, Octavian would later decide to take a job at his Alma Mater, Fairford High. He’s been teaching there for the past 2 years. He enjoys his work, knowing it’s one of the few subjects students actually find entertaining.

She grew up in a busy household, living with her grandparents on her Mum’s side, her parents and her three brothers. Mia’s family is one of the most important things to her. Mia’s mother passed away when she was eighteen and she still hasn’t gotten over her death. She left home at seventeen to go to university to become an English teacher. She is the first person in her family to go to university.
Mia has two cats who are basically her children. When she’s not working, she spends her time with them.
Mia is bisexual. She currently isn’t looking for anything serious, but she also will just let things happen, although it takes a lot for her to let her guard down. Mia’s last serious relationship was three years ago - her girlfriend cheated on her with her best friend and Mia caught them. She is extremely insecure and shy, she doesn’t let anyone in at first. BACKGROUND
triggers for death, homophobia, implied child abuse.
growing up in a small medieval town that didn't even have 10,000 people with an angry father was a very isolating experience for beau. after the death of his mother when he was only two, the only nurturing presence in his life was the quickly fading existence of guinevere rhodes in his memory, a blur on photographs.
there wasn't much to do locally except go fishing with whoever was willing to adopt him for the day or constantly harass the kind grandmas with his childlike chaos—something he could never do around his father without his every move being mistaken for malice or rebellion.
for someone who was as terrible of a student, it was ironic that his safe haven was the private catholic boarding school he'd been forced to attend and which just so happened to be at least an hour away from home.
the older he got, the less he cared. sometimes he'd come home sloshed after a pub crawl with his friends, despite the futile attempts to sober up on the bus ride home with copious amounts of bread and sleep, and most of the days he wouldn't come home at all. it was almost always worth the dire consequences, so long as he could experience a somewhat normal childhood.
beau was admittedly legendary at his school for his pranks, side hustles, and being a walking recipe for headache to the teachers around him, although some of them wouldn't deny that beau's never wavering and kind spirit was admirable.
still, his life was closely monitored by those who respected authority and were devout to god, as well as his father, even with all that distance between them, literally and metaphorically. by the time he turned seventeen, he'd already racked up an impressive number of detention and expulsion warnings. those threats were often empty promises, except for the time he got suspended for bringing a donkey onto the premises and wreaking havoc, until the head master caught him with her son doing everything but holy things.
needless to say, he was expelled months before his graduation and his father had brought him home by his ears only to immediately kick him out and tell him to never return. happy to do so, he packed his entire life into a suitcase, stole his father's car, promising his younger sister he'd come back for her if he were ever mean to her as he was to him, and escaped to london, where he started a new chapter of his life.
he spent more or less a year sleeping on the streets or couch-surfing, working odd jobs and getting involved in sketchy shit just to get by and survive. his saving grace came in the form of a lanky and dashingly handsome man, who would soon become his best friend, taking him into his home and auto shop for the time being, teaching him everything he needed to know to become a decent mechanic and get a long-term job.
later, they would form a band with some of their friends as a joke, except it was quickly becoming a reality after a video of theirs had gone viral, and before they knew it, venom dreams was big enough to start doing gigs and "tour" across the united states under the guise of a road trip.
beau's then long-time girlfriend had joined them on said tour, supporting them at every show, however, her presence was also one of the reasons for the downfall of the band. after finding out that she'd been sleeping with his best friend behind his back, he wasted no time to call it quits and went on a road trip of his own, finding his way to fairford.
although he hadn't intended to stay longer than a week or two, he ended up forming a meaningful connection with the town and its residents, throwing all caution out the window and deciding to build a life there even if for just a year.

TEEN PREGNANCY / joey's story starts with her mother: raised by a single mom in the heart of vegas, her father nowhere to be found. sin city took a toll on joey's mother, isabela, and she became pregnant with joey very quickly as a teenager with a boy in her class.
RUNNING AWAY / instead of telling her mother, isabela and joey's father ran away ... within vegas and it's surrounding areas. it was easy to get lost within the lights and the tourists that packed the streets on a summer day. joey's dad found a slew of jobs that was enough to purchase a run down van, and they would park it behind his workplace.
ABANDONMENT / they lasted for a few months. isabela was 6 months pregnant, and joey's father promised to return to the small van they had been living in but never did. isabela was 18 and alone with nothing but herself. during this time, isabela decided to move north. she hitchhiked and caught rides with drivers from nevada to washington, settling in seattle and attempting to make a life for her now - smaller family.
josephine was born in the early hours of april 29th, surrounded by only her mother and the nurses. it was only hours later that joey would be placed into foster care. it would be best for the both of them.
ADOPTION / immediately was sent to live with a family from near - birth until she was 6. it was only foster care, never an actual adoption, and unfortunately the couple who were raising joey broke up --- them choosing to relinquish her back into care.
this is how she landed in her fathers ( bastian and his husband's ) care. call her cliche, but she considers this one of the best moments of her life and will happily encourage adoption, no matter how hard people think it is or the misconceptions.

she loves her family, but joey is definitely someone who does not settle down. she wanted to spread her wings so to speak, so she went to eckered college in florida on a soccer scholarship, right on the seaside to study archology, mostly because she thought it was funny and that she thought digging up dinosaurs was cool. fulfilling a kid pipe dream and all that, y'know?
her freshman year, one of her roommates + said roommates boyfriend were in a band, that needed a drummer. joey didn't know how to drum. she thought it would be easy. so she said she could do it.
particualry awful the first few tries, she found her way after practice. and the band was born.
they were actually semi - decent, despite the rocky start. they grew in the florida scene and joey thought they were going to make it big. they were selling out small venues, word gets around, they had a spotify and soundcloud. big stuff.
after they graduated, she was left with few options because the band ... dismantled and joey didn't really have any reason to stay in florida. she stayed for about two years before deciding she needed to come back home. it was different without her friends being able to do what they used to. it was all fun and games.. now it's over.
everyone grew up -- a few of the band members were engaged, others were too busy with their actual careers, child and more to carry on with the band. joey's just the drummer. she can't run the whole show by herself.

has returned to fairford after around 7 years to live full time, not counting vacations / family visits during holidays.
lives in a run down fixer upper in mountainside she got for cheap, and is slowly working on fixing it up as she has the time and energy. it's good stress relief and frankly she's kinda good at it. has an eye for design and all that. she loves sims.
is a bartender a few nights a week at the daring daqiuri. she's not a huge people person so it isn't her favorite thing in the world, but she's funny and charming in a fucked up way so people kind of like her, she hopes.

born in woodside, california to two stanford professors; christopher and imogen carmichael, specializing in 1800s british literature & the classics, respectively. hence philly's name, and the names of all their siblings: lysander, elektra, juno, and the twins orion & valora.
they're a very eccentric family in a very full household in a very old house that'd been passed down throughout generations. it's loud and at times overbearing, but it's home. the carmichael family is a happy family.
philly's always been quiet. dreamy, even. as a child she'd prefer to watch the clouds churn and caterpillars cocoon, leaves dancing through the wind - rather than play with other children. not shy, just happiest alone, with her own interests.
CANCER; philly experiences a migraine for the first time when she's five, then it's the inability to walk in a straight line and spots dotting her vision. doctor appointment after doctor appointment soon reveals it as ependymoma; grade ii, but slow-moving. after surgery comes radiation, and philly earns a scar to bring into show and tell. it takes more than a few months of treatment, but after a year she's considered cancer free; four more years for her family to truly believe it.
her personality doesn't shift much over the years; awfully independent for a child, gaze as haunting as if she were a victorian child's portrait. still quiet - when she speaks its of faeries and bigfoot, the big blue sky and how if you listen quietly, you can hear the leaves and flowers speak to one another in their private language.
philly is close to all their siblings, but idolizes elektra. elektra is six years older and dyes her hair whatever colors she wants. elektra bought a knife off of a seedy guy downtown. elektra threw away all her heels, stopped shaving her armpits, and renounced god. elektra is god. her music's loud but soft all the same, florence and the machine and mazzy star and the cranberries.
when elektra's twenty-one she buys a brand new spanking (used but not falling apart) 19-something volkswagen with the entirety of her bank account and says she's leaving home; she's tired of routine, and needs to Discover Herself.
philly is fifteen, and likes learning but hates school - hates routine too, the day after day sameness of it all. philly stows away in the very back of the van, beneath all the blankets and isn't discovered until they're two states away and philly has to pee. elektra nearly crashes the van in shock.
it takes a lot of convincing of first elektra, then their parents - then a few days to set up the sudden transfer to online school after their parents pulling a few strings; and it hurts a lot of feelings - their parents, of course - but juno too, in particular.
in the end it's alright, because the carmichael family is a happy family.
for the next 9ish years, elektra and philly take their time traveling around the country. it's not a roadtrip, but their life - permanently on the road.
their parents never offer money, nor their help - once a carmichael makes up their mind, the mind is made. still family, but understanding a path is to be formed on their own.
they take up odd jobs in whichever town they land in; sell their own handmade wares, dine and dash and straight up shoplift. they survive in their own way - a way that's occasionally identity theft and credit fraud.
philly drops out of high school officially when they're seventeen - they drive all the way back to california just to do it. it's the first time she's ever seen her parents genuinely angry, but philly's always been on her own path; her own way of living.
after running from their warrants in florida and pissing off the entire state of texas, philly and elektra travel all the way up the west coast before eventually crashing florence (the name of their beloved van) into a farmer's fence in fairford. now they're stuck with a broken van in desperate need of... a lot of repairs, and a few hefty fines and debts to pay before they can go anywhere.

she's quiet but confident; her voice sounds like rustling leaves, if those leaves smoked a pack a day. straight up hoarse, like she's spent her years screaming in a locked room.
often underestimated because she looks like she's just been transported out of the victorian era, with big gaunt eyes that never blink and a frail frame.
talks about the trees as if they're listening, as if they're old friends; takes care to listen to still air, like there's a hum only she can hear. is often vague and never elaborates, but always speaks as if what they say is the undeniable truth.
believes in every superstition. has personally seen aliens and dealt with ghosts, and will recount those tales almost eagerly (as eager as philly can get). luck is extremely important to her.
DEATH, DEPERSONALIZATION / DEREALIZATION; philly's mostly blocked out the memory, but when they were ten and juno thirteen, the two had gone off-trail on one of their usual hikes in the familiar woods in their familiar town. it was philly's decision to step off path, which was what led to their discovery of a deceased body after the two skidded down a sudden ditch. this affected both of them deeply, with philly developing a depersonalization & derealization disorder from the trauma. she often feels outside her body; wrapped in cotton, her memories not her own. her reflection is not her, but someone else; objects distorted, a hazy lens wrapped around her vision.
anyways! some people find them amusing, with their bright outlook; they talk about the negatives the same as the positives. sometimes seen as naive, or gullible, but is rarely ever the two. they lead with purpose, with reason behind most action and thought. smart for someone whose education is google dot com.
philly doesn't laugh - rarely smiles, and when they do it rarely reaches their ears or cause crease in their cheeks or bares teeth; but this is not an indicator of philly's happiness. they're consistently content, relatively unbothered. even when she finds things funny, philly does not laugh.
their voice lacks inflection, is often monotonous. her emotions are often unknown to others.
apathetic towards most situations and most people; hard to bother, and tolerates others easily. doesn't express her emotions often, because while they're not completely lacking - philly feels them at a dimmed level. like they're stuck behind a cloth.
affection isn't verbal, but through small touches and gestures of kindness.
loves knock-knock jokes and bad puns. like so much. doesn't smile during them - tells them deadpan, and never expects a laugh in return but just likes telling them.

style changes often, depending on what philly's thrifted and re-donated. sometimes it's completely nonsensical, full on lydia deetz or baby spice - but usually it's practical, cut up shirts and dresses that don't restrict movement, overalls and sweaters and moth-bitten sweatshirts with broken zippers.
patches up their own clothes - makes their own jewelry, has handful upon handful of hobbies they've picked up and dropped over the years. calls themself a freelancer. do not trust them to babysit, they will lose a child. a welder and a basket weaver and a knitter and everything and anything. jack of all trades, master of none.

philly's rarely ever been in a romantic relationship i'd love to see something unrequited. or otherwise unknown. i love pining but be warned that philly is the slowest of burns.

Audrey was born the last child, she wasn't expected at her mothers age but she wasn't a surprise either because her parents had always talked about having a little girl one day and when Audrey was born, she was everything her parents imagined her to be. As she got older her mother put her in dance classes to wear off her energy but didn't realize she was going to be top of her class in it and would go on to win state and regional championships. All through out high school she was classified as a 'do it all' girl, she was captain of her swim team, cheerleading team, dance team and prom queen.
As she got older however, her brothers pulled away from her, seeing her as the apple of her parents eye seeing as they handed her everything she ever asked for in life. However, the youngest of her brothers remained close to her that was until her parents filed for divorce after her mother had cheated with her fathers best friend. Audrey was fifteen when she and her mother moved to Fairford, her father seeing it be best he raised the boys but however still made sure his daughter had everything she'd need but the mother getting nothing which gave Audrey's mother a bad taste in her mouth towards her daughter.
After High School Audrey went immediately off to college to get her business and financial degree, that was when she met a slightly older man, not by many years but still enough to catch Audrey's eye. She got pregnant with her son at twenty-one years old, the man had decided his career gain was more important so Audrey gave birth to her son, alone. She had been a single mother and still graduated with honors at the top of her class in both areas of her degree. A few years passed, she was out one night and had met the same man that had left her years earlier, had a one night stand and had become pregnant again with the same man's child, she gave birth to her daughter three months ago and while she was pregnant opened her own cookie shop and bought her own house in the suburbs. Both of which her dad helped her out with, giving her lavish gifts and spoiling his grandchildren is the way her dad makes up for sending her off when she was just a teenager.
