The Fairfax Garden Design Interns have inspired the next Greenway Institute for the Arts art contest. The sun goes down, but the garden interns keep gardening! Yesterday evening we continued our work of cutting back the grass, layering cardboard on top, and then layering @kellogggarden GroMulch on top of that. The Greenway Garden Interns have been tending to the Fairfax Butterfly & Hummingbird Garden this semester. They planted several California Native Plants that attract hummingbirds and butterflies, and they are tending to the soil. This week we added a layer of cardboard to deter the grass from growing, and a layer of GrowMulch from @kellogggarden. The gorgeous Coral Tree at the Fairfax Butterfly &Hummingbird got a haircut! We have been keeping the garden going over the summer with weekly watering and filling up the bird baths.
