Hey folks! I finally finished the Cover page! :D

Yes I know I should be sleeping, but I felt really inspired for this, and I have a good feeling it’s going to be great, heheh. At least I’m happy I can draw again! Even if it’s something silly like this, I think the fact I have recovered my flame for doing art is the most important. All about what the comic will be about it’s HERE if you would like to know.

I can admit there’s something really cool in drawing on this style, is a lot of fun to draw, and it’s surprisingly freeling! I think it have been wise I had this idea, specally for me who always stress out with anatomy and drawing straight lines on the buildings and all that stuff.

Hey howdy folks!

I still don’t have internet on my smartphone cos it doesn’t recognize the wifi, and I don’t have computer. But I’ve been trying to  keep arting, so I’m working more with traditional media. And I will try to post my art with my phone data.

Here I drew Faikel because I wanted to redesing his space suit. This one’s the space suit he uses for exernal use, for when he’s out there on some unknown planet. It also applies for when he’s on a planet that has no oxigen because his helmet can be closed. And although is not visible from cette angle, this tube is connected to an oxigen tank in his back.

I made this drawing because and I share it today, cos I wanted the first drawing I publish on 2021 to be him! :D Hope you like it! I made it with my watercolor markers.

I drew this cos, you'll not believe it! But it's because I spent most of my afternoon today from translator to translator and also aksing random people on the internet if "Gaia", "Gaiah", "Gaya" and "Gea" sounded the same or different phonetically! LOL

No kidding, it was something I needed to be sure about, since I'm going to use one of these words on my comics, and I was planning to use it on my animation as well. At first I was going to go with "Gaya" because I love this word a lot, but there's a Gaya already in an existing film's universe. So with all the pain of my heart I had to discard it cos, if my animation becomes well know I don't want to have trouble with copyrights sues from people who made that film later. It's not sure they will do that, they might not because the word will be used in other context in my case, but I don't know, film studios people are weird. I prefer not to take the risk.

So I was hesitant to decide between "Gea", "Gaia" and "Gaiah", but I put the words on various translators, even in one who is called "translate and speak" that it's recommended cos it tries to talk like real people, and I didn't liked the sound of "Gea" for this particular use of the word, as an exclamation expression. And I confirmed that the other two sounded cool, but in "Gaiah" the "h" doesn't have any sound, so is not necessary, is just there to make the word sound fancier when writting it XD So I finally decided to phonetically write it as "Gaia".

And I was so happy to finally (after 15 years! LOL ) having this decided and settled, and specially and mostly because I’m so happy to have the official voice of Faikel saying "Oh my Gaia!" and "by Gaia!" on a pilot test (voice demo), so yeah make fun of me if you want and say I'm overreacting....but I can't help saying it's freakin' awesome how he say these expression his their (her home planet's one) Goddess Gaia in different contexts! It’s all what I ever wanted for him...is even more than what I ever wanted or dreamed for his voice!

So, yeah thanks to all this I felt inspired to draw this little thingie hehe ^^ I so much wish you could hear it....And I wish I could hear him saying "Good Gaia", (that one phrase missed!) on a voice demo, but I'll have to wait until the animation is done, sadly. And mostly, I don’t share this first test precisely because that one was a test; it was recorded with an smartphone and not with a professional mic. Cos if you remember my oddysey with the microphones, I wasn’t able to find any good qualty mic nor send any mics to the peeps who were working with me at that time.

So I fear if I share it the way it is, you’ll not be able to totally enjoy the voice, since the voice is a bit distorted due the background noises. OR WORSE! You will think it’s awful, because is is distorted. I would really like that the first time you can hear Faikel’s voice can be on the best quality possible and with animation, so the experience can be cool!

Faikel was a character who challenged all the stereotypes and preset roles Western society have and they are used to see, all of them. How an alien should be, how a fictional character should be...and most important, how a man should be!  It invited to reflection and would have made people to think about how they expect someone act of some way because of their gender, color of skin, origin.

I created him to transcend the fiction. I created more than what I imagined at first. I created a character with fears and dreams, flaws, kinks and quirks, one that real people can love and be reflected in, and get relate to! So that’s why I would do anything so he can be introduced properly!

And I will...I hope...

By the way, if you ask what happened with my internet, well, my smartphone still doesn't recognize the wifi, but I bought some gigas for my smartphone to at least be able to post some art from time to time. And I made this on artflow for android. Oh and yeah I know faikel's eyes and head are a bit off...But Indulge me at least just this time and say it's a nice! Remember it's almost 3am in the morning and I spent my night ( because my afternoon I spent it solving that Gaia thing XD ) and part of next day morning drawing this, and I just got an emotional breakdown a couple of hours ago.

Little something I made to wish you a Merry Christmas!!

Hey howdy folks! Hope you’re doing well today!

I made this today! Just because 1- I was feeling lonely and I thought seeing my original characters on a cute lovey and fun scene could make me feel better. And 2- I had a huge craving to see a fictional character saying “oh mon dieu” for of being excited or gladly amazed, and nobody ever draws any of these two things! So I had to do it myself XD I think this sketch covers it all.

So here a sketch where my Character Atrix steals Faikel a kiss heheActually, in their story she gives him his first kiss after he confesses his love to her. So this one could be the scene maybe.

Just to clear it up. Here she’s not kissing him against his will. He’s really happy in fact because her gesture means she loves him too, but he’s also surprised because of how suddenly the action itself was. It was a surprise kiss after all, and he din’t expected the sensations and emotions it gave him.

So his pose it’s cos, even if they’re mostly pacifist, he doesn’t want her to approach so much in this moment and notice he’s got a space gun in his pants because he’s happy she kissed him. *chuckles*

Here the princess style dress it’s very convenient for this type of scenes, hehe But yeah joke aside, I love drawing these kind of dresses even if I don’t like wearing them (because they’re uncomfortable as hell XD ) and I like seeing my female characters wearing them, they’re so beautiful and so much fun to draw!

Hey howdy folks! I’m here again! It happened I couldn’t take a break of the internet or the art after all…I can’t! Because drawing is what makes me feel alive, and drawing and sharing my art it’s what helps me to cope with and overcome the difficult times when they come.

I think if I would have took that break I'd have dwell on desperation and sadness. And that's not good for me, so better to come chill out with the art and do what I do best ^^

I feel as long as I have the art there will always be hope. Here Faik looks a bit like Bernard Minet in one of his music videos. His outfit it’s inspired on one of his video clips in fact, heheh. This started as a sketch I was doing for myself and it was coming out so nice that I had to color it! XD

Hey howdy folks! Look at what I did this afternoon and part of the night! It's a drawing I made because I've been thinking, I don't make detailed drawings of Faikel's character design very often. And it's a shame because everything faikel has on his anatomy is useful for something (even the shiny hair yes! ) and it's not there just by mere decoration.

And sometimes there are details you can't see on a sketch because of the simplicity of the sketch itself. Like for example the ears: when I draw his ears on a sketch it looks like they're flat like humans ones. One day one of my watchers on dA asked if they were like elf ears because they looked like flower petals XD

But they are not flat! They actually have volume and the tips are semi transparent, and they are full of a fuild that serves to this species to hear better underwater, to keep the equilibrium and know where is the surface and where is the bottom when they're underwater, even when everything around them looks the same or they can't see.

Oh also, I did the detailed "antenna" because, as well as the ears, it's difficult to do detail of these on the sketches. These only appear on some situations...but I think instead of filling you up with data nobody cares about and nobody wants to know, I would like to wait to at least to make a few comics with him so you can figure out what they are for. It's always cool this way than just throw you a wall of text.
