The Best Little Cult in Cemetery, NM
A cult, formed in the early 1800s in the burgeoning United States believes the names given to places take on the traits of that name. Almost immediately, the cult fractures into various factions, some of which believe their mission is to ensure towns and cities embody the spirit of their name, some of which work to ensure the spirit of those same towns and cities refute their names. By the 1910s the underground fight between the factions has exacerbated to all out war. A group of artists arrive in Taos in 1918 just as the town considers changing it's name to Cemetery to paint the landscape, and inadvertently capture the covert fight between factions as they battle over the possible new town name.
