Hmm. Some excellent nonfiction and/or history books that I have recently read or think are just really worth reading include:

Dead Wake: The Last Crossing of the Lusitania by Erik Larson (and frankly most of what he writes)

Empireland by Sathnam Sanghera

Chernobyl by Serhii Plokhy (and again, most of what he writes)

Ghostland by Colin Dickey

In the Kingdom of Ice by Hampton Sides

The Silk Roads by Peter Frankopan

Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil by John Berendt

Nonfiction history books on the TBR list that I am excited about include:

Killers of the Flower Moon by David Grann

The Wager: A Tale of Shipwreck, Mutiny, and Murder by David Grann

Prisoners of the Castle by Ben Macintyre

Into the Silence: The Great War, Mallory, and the Conquest of Everest by Wade Davis

I really appreciate receiving this. My therapist is constantly reminding me to be kinder to myself too, and for the most part I've been succeeding, but then there are days like today where I wake up feeling like everything about me is wrong and bad, which then leads to panic attacks and me bawling my eyes out.

I think the tangy, sweetness from the pineapple is a nice compliment to it! I also personally like the added crunch pineapple adds. It's a very nice texture in my opinion! Anonymous asked: honestly? pineapple on pizza isnt my favorite, but i can see the appeal. its mostly the texture of cooked pineapple combined with pizza texture i dont like, but flavorwise the sweet and the tomato and a carb works well! and i dont understand why its so weird, people have done like mango or pineapple and tomato salsa for ages and paired it with chips/tortillas/put it on tacos with cheese, so its not a new combination. anyways back on flavor topic, yeah i like the flavors, i like the pineapple and sweetness but tang combined with the general cheese+tomato+crust pairing (especially a good crust) and really overall just dont like the way the cooked pineapple juice makes the whole thing a little too soggy.

Anonymous asked: Pineapple on pizza can work if it isn’t overwhelming and paired with the right toppings. It adds a bit of fruity flavor to brighten up otherwise blander things like Canadian bacon/ham . If it’s a “Hawaiian” pizza, it works well!

Not weird at all, thank you ❤️ I've learnt a lot about parenting mindfully over the last 4.5 years, and all of it has been restorative to my own inner child. Giving your small person the space to experience their emotions without trying to fix them, or make them stop, or cast them as in any way undesirable, should be (as my therapist once said) a modest wish, and yet it's somehow so radical.
