❝i  cannot  believe  ,  that  love  outlived  me.❞  tonight  is  going  great.  but  then  the  reality  set  in  that  hey  ,  his  sister  isn’t  here  to  knock  any  sense  into  him  and  now  he’s  in  his  own  little  pity  party  with  one  guest  mild  enough  that  he  could  tolerate  right  now.  but  he  doesn’t  have  the  mental  capacity  ,  apparently  ,  to  remember  her  name.  ❝like,  that’s  great  for  her.  but  what  the  fork  ,  you  know  ?  does  she  really  deseeerve  it  ,  more  than  i  do  ?  she’s  completely  batshirt  ,  zelda.❞

THE  COFFEE  SHOP  HAS  nearly  filled  up  by  the  time  she  collects  her  mug  of  tea  from  the  counter  and  turns  to  find  a  seat.  meg  is  just  about  to  ask  for  her  drink  to  -    go  when  she  spots  an  empty  stool  further  down  the  counter,  which  she  arrives  at  only  seconds  later.  she  slides  into  the  spot,  carefully  placing  the  mug  on  the  surface  before  turning  to  the  person  next  to  her.  “  hello,  mind  if  i  sit  here  ?  every  other  spot  appears  to  be  occupied.  ”  she  casts  out  an  innocent  smile,  neatly  folding  her  hands  in  her  lap  .

JULES  CAN’T  HELP  BUT  elicit  a  small  chuckle  ,  head  falling  back  as  she  shakes  her  head  .  “  you  ?  passive  aggressive  ?  no  way  ,  lexi  .  ”  she’s  teasing  ,  but  there’s  a  hint  of  seriousness  in  her  voice  as  she  leans  back  against  her  palms  .  “  you’re  like  ,  the  nicest  person  i  know  .  ”  out  of  all  the  people  she  knew  in  her  past  life  ,  lexi  was  the  easily  one  of  the  ones  most  deserving  of  a  spot  in  the  good  place  .  

she’s  his  new  sister  .  forty  knew  right  away  ,  of  course  ,  that  dani  was  not  love.  but  maybe  she  was  the  good  place’s  way  of  correcting  who  his  twin  was  supposed  to  be  ,  instead  of  the  psychopath  she  actually  was.  forty  insisted  on  getting  to  know  dani  ,  and  spend  time  with  her.  he  can’t  explain  it.  they  are  sitting  in  the  memory  course  ,  which  he  wouldn’t  have  any  interest  in  if  he  didn’t  wish  dani  would  possibly  remember  why  she  looks  like  his  twin  sister.  it  doesn’t  seem  to  matter  ,  though  ,  because  he  continues  to  pester  her  instead  of  listening  to  michael  and  jason.  “do  you  have  siblings  ?”  he  whispers  ,  leaning  forward  to  better  be  heard.

he’s  not  staring  because  the  man  is  good  looking  ;  at  least  ,  not  fully.  there  are  other  things  on  his  mind  ,  forty  isn’t  completely  shallow.  “okay  ,  i  have  an  offer  for  you,”  he  says  ,  putting  a  hand  on  the  man’s  shoulder  as  muse  comes  to  him  for  the  first  time  in  awhile.  and  a  smile  ,  too.  stationed  next  to  him  at  the  bar  ,  forty  is  ,  give  or  take  ,  two  or  three  days  sober.  it’s  not  exactly  a  record  ,  but  it’s  not  his  worst  either.  “well  ,  first  :  do  you  have  acting  experience  ?  modeling  experience?”  probably  not  ,  but  that’s  okay.  it  would  make  the  performance  more  real  when  he  has  the  right  vibe  in  real  life.

                    CAROLINE  SLUMPED  FORWARD  ,  chin  in  her  palm  .   “  remember  that  party  we  talked  about  ?  ”  she  was  about  two  seconds  away  from  tearing  her  hair  out  .  “  postponed  until  further  notice  .  in  fact  ,  i  don’t  even  wanna  hear  about  a  party  for  at  least  ten  business  days  .  ”     —     [  @fableborn​  .  ]

                    WHEN  IZZIE  GOT  IN  HER  HEAD  ,  there  was  absolutely  no  getting  her  out  of  it  .  so  ,  she  paced  ,  gnawing  at  her  thumbnail  and  struggling  to  calm  her  thoughts  .  “  luke  ,  we  should  go  for  a  walk  !  yeah  ,  or  we  can  bake  ,  or  —  ”  pause  .  “  decorate  for  ...  no  good  reason  .  but  we  should  do  something  .  let’s  do  something  .  ”     —     [  @fableborn​  .  ]

          izzie  groaned  .  “  i  think  i  have  to  admit  defeat  here  .  ”  she  stared  at  the  cupcake  in  her  hands  ,  all  but  pouting  at  it  .  “  they’re  better  than  mine  !  ”  she  simply  didn’t  see  how  such  a  thing  was  possible  ,  but  she  wasn’t  in  a  position  to  argue  —  not  at  a  tahani  party  .  “  it’s  okay  ,  you  can  say  it  .  i  know  you’re  thinking  it  .  ”     —     [  @fableborn​  .  ]
