Look who showed up as I was trying to take decent pictures for my latest post. Lovely. I didn't think my island would be so coveted. That's the third squad that has been sent to my location, and I made sure to stash the ominous bottles away from the food. And yet they just keep coming. I'm not surrendering my island. Not now, nor never. I just hope my shield won't break.

Alright!! Finally, my ideal armor is complete. I even spruced up my shield for the occasion. I've had this design hung on my wall for days, haha.
Now, my biggest issue when it comes to enchanting my set -obviously- has to do with mending. I don't have it, and I am not too fond of the whole trapping-villagers-thing to get the coveted item. I might try my luck fishing for it, although I know it would take eons before getting four mending books this way. I may be lucky, but not that lucky. I'm... not sure what to do, honestly. In the meantime, this armor set is probably fated to end up as a decorative piece for my house. I know, it defeats the whole purpose of making oneself a netherite armor, but oh well. There's no one to tell me otherwise anyway. Now, do I have any other projects? Why yes. I know where the closest Nether fortress is, and I've been wanting to get into potion-making, as one does. I will attempt another big Nether trip soon.
I've also started working on a little pale garden corner on my island. I am aware I have stated multiple times how nerve-racking I find this biome to be, BUT. design-wise, it has a lot of charm. I might even transfer a heart to one of those, as a means to get more resin if needed. I'm still debating that part, though. I suppose I will see. I sleep through most nights, so it wouldn't pose a real threat.

Something I dreaded more than travelling back to the pale garden was exploring the Nether. I'm all for exploration, as you might know, but this place? No thanks. Unfortunately, it is a necessary stop if I wish to step up my gear, and thus complete my armor goal. So, I gathered every bit of bravery I could find and went in. To make a long story short (for real, this time), I found both a bastion and a fortress right by each other... both sitting on top of a huge lava lake. Isn't that my luck, uh? To top it all off, I had to travel a crimson forest biome to even get there, and nearly ended punched to death by a virulent duo of hoglins.
Then, as I was building to get to the bastion, I was thrown into the lava by what I assume to have been a stray blaze shot from the nearby fortress. Fortunately for me, the proximity of a basalt pillar and one of the two golden apples I had on me narrowly saved my life.
My luck didn't end there, as I found exactly what I was looking for in one of the chests in the bastion. Then, I carefully made my way back to my portal (mostly by digging along the ceiling, for safety's sake...) and tah-dah!
Now, my first goal is almost complete!! All I need are two more netherite scraps to upgrade the boots. I'm excited, doesn't this look great already? It looks great, I think.

That was the worst night I have ever spent by far. Four of these folks was a little much for me to handle. I can't even begin to imagine how many there could have been, had the biome been just a little larger. I genuinely thought this pale garden I had found was small enough to allow for one or two creakings to appear at most - I was dredfully wrong.
But it was worth it in the end. I have more than enough resin bricks for my little project! Now, I won't have any more excuse to avoid travelling deeper into the Nether...

I'm back.
[ PAGE 17 of ??? ]
I keep postponing it, but today I will make the trip to the nearest pale garden.
I haven't reported on it, but I have been collecting diamonds and netherite scraps — in order to have everything at the ready for the day I discover a bastion (which is its own quest in itself...).
Regarding the pale garden expedition, I plan to collect glowstone to light up the area, to keep other monsters from creeping up on me while I'm dealing with a/multiple creaking/s. Why not bringing a stack of torches, you may ask? In short, that is just a matter of aesthetic. I find this specific biome beautiful, in all of its eery glory, and I wish to keep it that way.
Wish me luck. I will keep you posted.
