MV Agusta F4 RR SBK Does Not Surface Yet, but Its Price Is Now Known
Remember the MV Agusta F4 RR SBK we mentioned in late October last year? Well, if you expected photos of this racing-focused machine, we‘ll just have to disappoint you, as the manufacturer of Schiranna has not surfaced any. What did surface however, is the price the racing machine will be offered for in the US: $46,000. Since the F4 RR is the base on which the machines competing in the Superbike series, we kind of know what to expect from the “RC” version. Likewise, in case MV Agusta has real plans to line up the bike on the WSBK grid, certain price caps must also be considered. The WSBK regulations mention the €40,000 limit, which is around $47,600 by today’s exchange rate, so the bike is well within the limits.
No launch date is known at the moment So far, no official launch date is known, and the MV Agusta website is dead silent as far as this matter is concerned. The rather scarce information seems to have been compiled by journalists who are closer to the house of Varese and who have studied the becoming of racing bikes evolving from the base models.
We already mentioned that the power is expected to be around the 210 hp figure, while the weight is expected to be reduced to improve the on-track grunt of the machine. The F4 RR SBK is believed to arrive with magnesium covers, a new cylinder head design, all-titanium screws, a lighter crankshaft and lightweight forged wheels, lithium-ion battery, an all-titanium exhaust system, carbon fiber bodywork, fenders and seat covers and premium (read Ohlins) suspensions and top-drawer brakes.
We’ll be looking for the machine as something tells us that it won’t be too long until official details surface.
