Robin was never the type to wear lipstick that much. Sure, she wore some at times, but it wasnât long before it was wiped off and the only thing left was the faint tint that stained her lips. Whenever she put lipstick on, no matter what color, it always looked weird and slightly off.
Her mom still kept gifting her tubes of lipstick and lipgloss in hopes that sheâd use them one day. It wasnât happening any time soon. Robin was a chapstick gal, at most.
So Robin had been accumulating quite a collection of lipstick for some time now. It seemed like a waste that they didnât have any use. But she didnât exactly know what to do with them. Throwing them out didnât seem like the best option, they were brand new! However, without any practical solution she just pushed the situation to the background of her mind.
When she became friends with Nancy Wheeler, Robin had forgotten about her pile of unused lipsticks in her room. That is until Nancy found them.
âWhy donât I ever see you wearing these? Theyâre cute!â Nancy opened a little box on her desk. âAnd theyâre so many.â
âOh yeah. I didnât get those for myself. My mom gave them to me.â She shrugged. âI just donât care for it.â
Nancy kept going through them. Robin could tell by her expression that some of them caught her attention. Finally, Robin knew what to do with them. Or rather, who she would give them to.
âIf you really like them, you should keep them.â Robin told her.
âReally?â Nancy asked.
âYeah, at least that way someoneâs going to actually wear them.â They smiled at each other. Robin loved her smile. She liked it so much more when she was the one that caused it.
Nancy kept some. Nancy wore the lipsticks that Robin gave her. Robin couldnât stop staring. It was a problem.
Nancy noticed the staring. Robin was sure she did. But the thing that was incredibly confusing was that whenever she caught Robin staring she just smiled at her. She didnât look weirded out at all.
And okay, Robin mightâve never liked how these lipsticks looked on herself. But Nancy was another story. Robin didnât even have words to describe how good she thought Nancy looked. Let alone how that made her feel.
âRobin.â She was so lost in staring again, that she wasnât even paying that much attention to what Nancy had been saying.
âHmm?â She looked her in the eyes. Nancyâs eyes were equally captivating though. âSorry, whatâd you say?â Jesus, Robin that was embarrassing.
Nancyâs eyes sparkled. âI said that if youâre gonna keep looking at my lips like that you should at least kiss me already.â
Robinâs eyes were so wide. She was speechless. When Nancy asked if she could kiss her she couldnât even get a word out, just managed the enough amount of brain power to nod.
It was tentative and chaste. But Robin really couldnât have asked for a better first kiss with a girl. Nancyâs hands were cupping her face with a delicacy that had her melting. Her own hands on Nancyâs shoulders.
Giggles filled the room when they parted.
Nancy looked up at her. âLooks like youâll still be wearing those lipsticks after allâ
