@supersebmd:
Sebastian had a busy day of running around. Lizzie had mentioned to him that it was National Girlfriend Day or something to that caliber. He didnât know what to do with that information, but the bubbly, sometimes very persistent, social worker kept poking at him as to what he was going to do. The oncologist thought nothing of it since he was technically a single man. Granted, a lot of days and nights he would wake up next to a certain someone, they had no titles. They never spoke of their intentions in depth, so to assume would probably make an ass out of him. Though, in the back of his mind, Sebastian felt that Mercedes was a very important person in his life and close to a girlfriend as he has gotten in a long time. He bit the bullet and went shopping.
Sneakily this morning, he set up his surprise for her and left for work. Sebastian was notorious for the gift and ditch, which if asked, was mostly because he was awkward and partially because he was horrible at time management. He only had an hour to get the job done and rush to the hospital as he had overslept. There was no real planning put into the card or gifts as he just went with his heart and what he knew she liked. In all honestly the worst part was the card, in which he had no idea what to say in it. Instead, he scribbled whatever came to mind and darted out of her apartment, probably leaving her drowsy roommates to wonder if they encountered The Flash himself. Sebastianâs nerves calmed down as he worked. He went room to room visiting his patients for the first few hours of his shift before settling down in his office where he was to examine charts and take a few phone calls. As he tried to contact a healthcare provider and sort out a few issues, he heard a knocking on the door. A genuine smile flourished onto Sebastianâs features at his beautiful visitor. He hung up the phone. Ten minutes on hold was too much and the dull elevator music was putting him to sleep. âItâs cool, youâre already in anyways, so I canât just kick you out. Whatâs up,â he asked as he pushed himself out of his chair and went to close the space between them. As he neared her, Sebastian noticed how gorgeous Mercedes was. âWow, you look⌠stunning,â he said as his arms spread for her. âGoing on a date,â Sebastian asked in jest.
Mercedes grinned as soon as he spoke. She missed is voice, and him, even though it hadnât been that long since sheâd last seen him. It wasnât often that she didnât see him, but she still had grown to miss him when he wasnât with her. She walked into his arms, hers roaming from his shoulders to interlock around his neck. Her lips softly touched his. âThanks, someone bought me these amazing shoes, and well, I had to dress for the occasion so that I could match these shoes,â she explained. âOnly if weâve decided to go on a date in your office in the middle of your working.â Her lips touched his once more. âSo what was the special occasion for these beautiful shoes and the flowers? Not that Iâm complaining. I just donât want to be that girl that forgets super important dates. Believe it or not, I went through this whole thing in my head of important dates with Pretty Eyes, but couldnât come up with anything.â Brown eyes looked into green as she asked, hoping that she hadnât somehow missed something important.Â
